I thought that this thread was all about the Labour dream team Hopefully Rachel does not announce this next week
Massive numbers of young people unemployed. It is a national tragedy unfurling. Reeves is meant to tackle this in her budget. We need strong policies for our young people to have a chance. I have high hopes Labour get this part of their jigsaw. I hope I am right. Would be nice to give hope to our kids somehow.
You can’t tackle years of neglect of young people in a budget to be fair. I hope they announce that there is support not simpleton punishment approaches. Farage’s answer to this dire problem is pay them less.
Covid affected loads of young people's self confidence and communication skills, my son included. We are all praying that once he finishes college he can find employment that he likes and pays enough.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has been put under further pressure over the state of the nation’s finances ahead of next week’s Budget as the latest official figures showed higher-than-expected government borrowing last month. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said public sector borrowing stood at £17.4 billion last month, £1.8 billion lower than a year ago but the third highest level for October since records began. The figure was more than the £15 billion expected by most economists and higher than the £14.4 billion forecast in March by the UK’s independent fiscal watchdog, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
Ex labour MP switches to green party. Claims Labour leaving millions behind. Not a big story in isolation. But the new lad at the Greens, who I originally thought to be a bit of a dafty, seems to be turning a few labour heads. Interesting to watch. We know nobody is defecting to the tory mess unless they completely change leadership and tone. Liberals sitting on a decent base of power but have such lowly aspirations. Will the new found voice of the greens make headway. At least they have clarity which none of the others have. They arent for me though.
