Says an awful lot about how good Le Bris is as a coach when you’ve got lots of players that have worked under him singing his praises or wanting to move and reunite with him. Still need to pinch myself every now and again when i think that we have Le Bris and Ghisolfi running the club and not Byrne and the rest of the useless changers we have had steering our club onto the rocks,
Ya forgetting Diarra still to come back mate? Looked good before the injury, especially considering it was early on his arrival and he wouldn't have fully settled or clicked with his teammates! Yet some sad mag ****, reckoned Guendouzi would be another panic buy! Sat 4th in the league with every single signing we made in the summer having a part to play and many of them I can’t believe they are playing for us and we got them at a decent price! But he is consoling himself with us making panic buys! In all honesty when I think about the transformation across this club since KLD arrived it would be unimaginable even to the most optimistic!
I can see us getting Guendouzi and a RW in Jan at least. We have to remember that the club is really good at selling too. So we could see a big or surprise departure in the summer (Isidor ?!?! Is his transfer value going to get any higher) but I'm more than happy to sell if we continue to improve. The main thing I've been impressed with is how we are building a squad full of top players, not just the 11. You see loads in this league with a class 11 but nowt else on the bench. (Just look at the mags) means we can compete on numerous fronts and accommodate injuries. HWTL
We still have a domestic loan spot or two as well I think, wouldn't be surprised to see us bulk out the squad with a couple of talented youngans from the likes of Chelsea or Man City etc
Premier League clubs have voted in favour of introducing new financial rules at a meeting today. It means that from next season, the controversial Profitability & Sustainability rules will no longer be enforced and clubs will instead be governed by a squad-cost ratio rule. Whereas PSR limited clubs to a £105-million loss over a three-year period, the SCR rules will instead apply on a season-by-season basis and will apply specifically to club's spending on their first team. The new rules will limit clubs to spending 85% of their revenue on squad costs, which the Premier League say will simplify the system and allow 'all clubs to aspire to greater success'. Clubs currently participating in European competitions are already following these rules, as UEFA imposes a 70% ratio on teams. What does this mean for Sunderland? In the short term, not a great deal. They came into this summer in an incredibly strong position with regards to PSR and would have had plenty of headroom next year even accounting for their significant investment in the squad. Sunderland are thought to have been in support of both SCR and the anchoring system that was ultimately voted down, and so will not be anticipating any issues next year and beyond to SCR. What it will undoubtedly mean that those Premier League clubs who have in recent years been limited in their spending due to PSR concerns will likely be able to flex their muscles more under this system, and that will pose challenges as Sunderland look to try and establish and grow within the Premier League. It underlines the importance of growing the club's revenues to allow for continued investment in the playing squad, both off the pitch and through key player sales. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...ier-league-financial-rules-sunderland-5412314
https://x.com/furymaker_/status/1991595820081451096?s=46 Not sure if this link will work but this lad looks ideal. Lots of us want a left footed winger with pace, engine, goal threat but I think they’ll need a strong defensive work rate and even aerial ability to really be ideal. Bazoumana Toure. Hadn’t heard of him until 5 mins ago but new dream signing.
