This is just a wild guess, but from a recent change of avatar among one of our membership, I'm assuming that someone has had their content moderated. This should not be taken too personally - it happens to the best of us All just part of life on a fans' forum. #getbehindyourmod
He'll soon have a longer list of previous names to rival Epstein's list, allegedly. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
And just like that Christian is the new manager of Newport County. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
In a small forum community it is always a balancing act for a mod between taking firm action - after the rules have been clearly explained in advance to all members, as they have by the new moderator on this forum - and risking the possibility of one or more disgruntled members leaving the forum. It's a no-win scenario and usually a thankless part of the job. This is a community that means a lot to most of us here though, regardless of passing spats. I've got exasperated myself a few times and intended to leave. But a day or two of reflection usually reveals the attractions of being a member here are stronger than any transient annoyances.
I have taken @The Pub Landlord excellent advice, I’ve muted individuals who piss me off, and will only be posting on 2-3 threads from now on.
I thought someone else was Hawtrey the last few days, as I could see his quoted posts but no OP I am a mere Australian
I never have a spat with anyone Any good news? The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Insults and spats mean nowt to me. My family and friends (as if) will tell you I'm far too sarcastic. I reply that my sarcasm is very seldom with malice, and I'll NEVER take offence at whatever anyone says to me. I'm also not the type to stab someone in the back, I'd do it in the front! Overall the mods on here seem to me to do a decent job, and even if they didn't users have the option to sod off. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Many thanks for the combined IQ of you and your extended family. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Apologies, my previous couple of posts were based on a misunderstanding. I was not up to speed with this 'muting' business, and mistakenly thought Royston's new avatar was a reference to something perhaps deleted. I presume I'm the only one who has had a post deleted then, since our new moderator took over. I'm nothing but trouble, me Personally I'm not going to indulge in any muting. But I won't be engaging in any private message conversations either in the future. As Billy Bragg once sang "I had an Uncle who one played, for Red Star Belgrade He said some things are really best left unspoken, but I prefer it all to be out in the open..."
Glad to see he eventually worked it out - after I pointed the way - it’s a facility on the offending individuals profile , just hit the ignore button Lardy
I’ve decided to take it a step further from just pressing ignore on the arseholes. I’m restricting myself to only posting on 2 threads from now on - The Ashes one, and the match day. I won’t be starting any further new threads, either. When the Ashes finishes (and what a great first day that was), I’ll just be down to the one thread, which suits me fine. I have no wish to fraternise or even engage, even on a forum, with certain people on here The other threads just provoke near 24/7 antagonism, and has been said many times, we have very little / nothing in common other than football. @lardiman for all our differences I haven’t got you on ignore, in case you were wondering
