I don't know, I'm fairly certain we would have got him if the owner he was working under wasn't such a ****.
I mean, fair play to Chansiri on that one though. Annoying as f*ck for us, but our owners could learn a thing or two from that situation.
I actually believe there were 150 applications. The reason being people have seen how we appoint, so ever, Tom, Dick & Harry have applied thinking they may be in with a chance. It is a bit like me thinking I can become Apple CEO now that Tim Cook is stepping down shortly. I mean I have an iPhone, 2 Macs, an Apple watch, Apple TV, AirPods, HomePods and iCloud...surely I am qualified?
You can definitely see how this has battered the folks on here down. I don't have a great deal of knowledge or information on managers and so forth, so I only come on here to get updates. Admittedly, a lot of you are working, I'm sure, but I care for my wife, so I have a bit more time at home, so I look at posts/comments at 10:24, for instance, come back in the evening and there is no new post, just the one from 10:24 or a comic response. This is not a 'go' at us, the supporters, but more that the news, albeit interesting or even annoying or dull, coming out of the club is so rare, so little, that there is literally nothing to post. I'd say collectively we have been beaten down and are now bored beyond belief. That is a terrible indictment of this club and how they run it and care about the paying fans.
I must admit, I feel like this a lot as well ... it's like there's just loads of tumbleweed rolling by each day! I think it's also a sign of the times that people are constantly on the lookout for news updates in everything. In the good ol' days we'd just get a snippet or two each day or so and that would be it - We'd otherwise get on with our lives until we heard stuff from the horse's mouth.
Interesting article on the BBC about Ole. I'm not suggesting we could get him but it looks like he would be quite the character and tactician that could sort us out. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cpv13e3k91jo
That's fair enough and makes sense. My only slight disagreement would be in the current situation, knowing how the club look, how the fans are feeling, let's face it the atmosphere and especially online content is not happy, you would have thought they would have tried hard to keep the fans onside and optimistic. Currently, apart from a few admirable personalities, everyone is pessimistic to the point of giving up.
Agree that the club could be doing more to try and raise the optimism. Signing Romeu is a start but there needs to be more coming from the club.
I can top all that but I spend all day writing software for the various Apple OS's so have an excuse for the 8 phones in front of me. So maybe you're next in line behind me....
I think this is a fair and pertinent point. Whilst SR have been generally hopeless, we should not think that applies to Tonda. I wanted an experienced old stager but happy to see how we go for 6 games under Tonda
