Another pathetic dropped catch. What chance does JJ have when our veterans keep dropping easy catches?
Looks like some of the local media is starting to turn on McCarthy, but early but not completely unwarranted either. Some of them reporting (unsurprisingly) that the Wilfs might not have the patience for a young QB
Yeah, he's likely got the rest of this season to show he can cut it in the NFL. What I want to see from him is to use his legs more - he's got 2 rushing TD's already so he's got the mobility. If a play that's been called isn't on don't force it - either throw it away, find an easy pass or try and gain yards rushing. KOC can take plenty of the blame with his play calls but a good QB can think on their feet.
I think he needs to show some progression over the next 7 games. But I’d stilll be looking to give him next year as well. If you make the call to move on from him what are the options? Sign another Sam Darnold type (Mac Jones?) and hope you can become competitive, but never actually do anything in the post season. Draft another QB who you hope can hit in the ground running because if they don’t then they will be binned like McCarthy? Basically just become the Browns/Jets at that point Sign one of the more expensive and potentially washed QBs like Murray or Tua? Who knows what their motivation will be like and taking on a big contract like that is risky So yeah I definitely favour giving McCarthy more time, fire Kwesi and see how next year goes. Miss the playoffs then fire KOC and see how McCarthy has done. I get that rookie QBs (which he essentially is) there is a huge learning curve. Injuries haven’t helped but he has a very good supporting cast to help him and is ranked as the 35th best QB this season (of qualifying QBs). That means some teams have fielded 2 QBs who have been better than him, it’s been as bad as it could be
