Spot on post. It’s almost like SR doesn’t consider the possibility that their wacky decisions don’t pan out.

If you’ve made several ‘innovative’ appointments and they haven’t worked out, surely it’s time to get an experienced man-manager in?

Tonda may well have a great future but I just don’t see how an inexperienced manager can get sustained performance out of this team. We need someone who can manage difficult personalities and maintain good team spirit when things aren’t going our way.

 

Given that Charlton are nicknamed the `Addicks` after a local fish and chip shop, I`m surprised that this open goal for fish puns has been missed. Frankly, the level of punnery has gone right downhill on this site !

 

@AberdeenSaint , you seem to be the Sole provider, so far. Maybe the rest of us realise that Saints are giving us all a splitting Haddock.

Actually addick is used by all clubs with Athletic in their name. Short forathletic

 

I thought it was because Charlton have addick for a manager.

 

Never heard that before - every day is a school day! I thought it was specific to Charlton - `addick = haddock.

 

I was curious and did a quick search which came up with:-
Charlton's nickname, "The Addicks," is believed to come from a local fishmonger named Arthur "Ikey" Bryan who rewarded the team with haddock and chips after matches. The name is a corruption of "haddock," a result of South London dialect dropping the 'h' and changing the 'o' to an 'i'.
