I doubt he makea much use of our services tbh. Not that it is relevant. I agree they should pay fair taxes. We might disagree on what is fair though. I dont think we should have an abundance of wealth taxes as in my opinion it will cost more than it earns. Sticking with Ratcliffe. Like many succeasfull businessmen he has his philanthropic interests. One is called the forgotten 40 which I liked. It is about targetting child poverty. Ineos gives schools £20k p.a. for 3 years in some of the most deprived areas of the country. Money goes straight to the head to use as they wish. Maybe the donations means his company pays less uk tax? But in my opinion these sorts of schemes are worthwhile because some are getting very meaningful help. Without central govt dictating how you must spend the money. Sweeping additional taxation of wealthy and successful business folk will have unintended consequences imo. We need to tread the line carefully.
Fair enough. All I would add is if these wealthy people paid fair tax we would have decent public services and there would be less reliance on charities to provide needed services. Same as the royal family He probably spends a fortune paying accounts to avoid tax and then on his philanthropic efforts. if I was as rich as him I’d pay fair tax and be philanthropic. Mind he is wasting his money chucking good after bad with Man U.
Then if labour looked at the spend on migrants they wouldn't need to hit pensioners so much a recent investigation found that they are supplying vapes for free that is for just one centre , in an area it comes to a total cost of millions, there is nothing under the UN convention saying we need to supply vapes
Roger I agree we need a robust immigration policy and putting people In hotels is daft but this government did not create this problem, it was an absolute mess they inherited from the last government. At least there is now a plan in place to tackle this. Hopefully no stupid political games by the Tories (who created the problem in the first place) and the country can get on top of this divisive issue once and for all. in terms of pensioners it was a Labour government who introduced the WFA in the first place and pensioners who need it still get it and it’s being expanded this year. The Truss budget knocked £400 billion off all our pensions - the Tories are the real enemies of pensioners.
There are a bunch of ex British soldiers in France now. They have done recces in the dark and located where they hid the boats in the sand and the outboard stuffed in plastic and buried. They notified local police dug them up and destroyed them. but the worst news they found out was that there are no gangsters running it. The police are with them and are under their escort, in the morning as the coach carrying them along with the police escort, as they alight from the bus, they are given life jackets and make their way to the equipment, the operation is run by the police with the knowledge of our CS, that's why they ask for the life jackets back. Our boys are patrolling the harbour looking for the British boats coming in early mornings for drop off looking for the evidence of deflated dinghy's being returned, the video is on you tube now British vigilantes slash small migrant boats on French ... I can't read that, there appears to be a paywall mate. You might be interested in this SKY News research, where it evidences migrants being bused in, they just wait for the nod to go on local buses. If you watch the video the police are even waiting at the location (bus stop) they are departing from, and everyone all but two are allowed on their way. Some of the migrants are happy to reveal their journey, some less so but the journalist follows them on the entire journey, one womans claim to how much she paid for her familiy journey is absolutely astonishing. Very organised and is running like clockwork, with no one interested in stopping the criminal enterprise...
