It's a sensitive issue when people born in Britain are getting called pakis because the Tories, Reform and the Daily Mail have normalised racism
Anyway tbph Archers, I've seen many a user on here use that term, I'm talking on this actual part of the board, I'm sure I've even seen @Spurlock use it, so do we blame that on him having read the Daily Mail or voting Tory or loving Nigel, which is it?
Well there's banter and there's bigotry, and grey areas in between, but basically there are certain words to be wary of, andwe all know what those words are. Being a pikey, you should know that.
Thing is mate I'm not offended at being called a pikey, I have never been offended by it, but I had to stop other people calling me it in real life because other people were getting offended. I honestly don't care if they even call me a pikey in hate, it's a word, not a stone. It's quite endearing - I quite enjoy taking my horse down to the pub for the bantz... please log in to view this image
it was more Starmer doing anything "controversial" and if he does chances are at the slightest criticism he will promptly disown his previous opinion .
I agree mate and it's part of his character, he don't strike me as always comfortable in the public eye, fidgety and he tries to work hard at it, and when things go wrong instead of thinking calmly and rationally and being prepared to admit he got it a bit wrong, he panics and upsets people, that then makes him worse, even more uncomfortable and more fidgety and then becomes defensive.
No idea Ern, I didn't look into it, I've heard outrageous figures before but generally I think of it as £2k-£3k the cost, so did a quick google on this figure... AI Overview The figure of £45,000 paid to smugglers has been reported in recent news concerning human smuggling operations. A British-based mother told Sky News she paid this amount to a people-smuggling network to transport a family of four to the UK from Turkey, with children under 11 costing half price. This payment was held in trust by a third party, such as a restaurant owner or money changer, and only released to the smuggler once the family had successfully arrived in the UK. Other costs reported in the news for single-person journeys have varied widely depending on the route and method: A migrant travelling from India to the US via South America paid a smuggler around $45,000 (£36,000) for the journey. Average English Channel small boat crossings typically cost between €2,500 and €4,500 per person. Historically, during the time of the Berlin Wall, professional smugglers charged up to 45,000 marks to help people cross the border. People smuggling is a highly lucrative and dangerous business, with profits for criminal gangs soaring to an estimated £180 million annually. Authorities such as the National Crime Agency (NCA) are working to target these networks, which often use social media to advertise their services and exploit vulnerable people.
This shows the problem we face, but had Sucky posted that the left wing wet wipes would have gone full meltdown and Slurpy would have invited him to pray in a mosque
