Good to have him back. He does'nt start when everyone's fit but he could be a really important player coming off the bench this Season
With everyone fit I think Arteta willl pick this side in the Prem (at least against a low block) Eze will play Trossards role. Zubimendi frees up Odegaard to play as a proper 10. ---------------------------Raya--------------------------- Timber--------Saliba---------Gabriel------Calafiori -----Odegaard-------Zubimendi-------Rice--------- --Saka-----------------Gyokeres----------------Eze-- Bench: Havertz, Martinelli, Madueki, Trossard, Norgaard, MLS, Mosquera, White, Kepa. - Would still leave Jesus, Hincape, Dowman and Nwaneri out.
I don't think Eze has done anywhere near enough to be considered a starter. It will be Trossard or Martinellu starting on the left. I'd also be playing Havertz ahead of Gyokeres.
I can see that argument. But I think it will be Eze. Trossard starts over Martinelli against a low block because he's better with the ball at his feet. Eze can do everything Trossard does but he's a better passer of the ball and a tad more creative. Recent Gyokeres performances have made me think he's probably first choice now. The guy puts in such a shift. But in situations like yesterday where the game opens up and we need a goal.. that's when Madueki and Martinelli will shine for us this Season. (Unfortunately we had neither on the bench)
Gabriel injured in the Brazil friendly against Senegal. Doesn't look good at all. Just have to hope it's not as serious as it looks. Ancelotti admitted after the game that Gabriel was training by himself. If that's the case, why would he risk starting him? How utterly careless. Calafiori was also sent back from the Italy camp as he has a hip issue and hasn't been able to train/play.
HoA saying that Arsenal are relaxed about Calafiori's injury and it's not serious - so at least that's a silver lining. Honestly though, Gabriel's injury could be a bigger issue, as it looked like a Grade 2+ adductor injury. Which means it could be between 3 - 8 weeks recovery time. It didn't look good. I'd be surprised if he's back before the New Year, but happy if it's any sooner really. Just have to hope he recovers quicker than we expect and that we're pleasantly surprised.
Our injury record is becoming an issue that needs addressing - has to be something we are doing. Heads need to roll.
David Ornstein claiming that whilst Gabriel needs further tests, initial scans suggest he will be out for between 1-2 months. That's roughly what I had expected when I saw the injury, but gutting to hear it become a reality. This is just ridiculously unfortunate.
Very bad news. He is our best defender and is absolutely vital on set pieces. With so many injuries to forward players its seems luck has ordained that even more of our goal scoring threats are going to be unavailable. I heard he's out for the season by the way with ligament damage - but hard to tell where the truth is.
Who said this? David Ornstein and Sami Mokbel are both very reliable, and they've both said it'll be between 4 weeks (minimum) - 8 weeks (maximum). I've not seen anyone say he'll be out for the rest of the season.
Social media. Some wannabe ITK, which could be total BS. Nothing would surprise me, though. This was before the breaking news on 1-2 months - which looks like it will mean 10-13 matches. Also heard Timber is out.
Oh good grief. I remember questioning it when we were hearing mid November. We have THREE number 9's - ALL injured. Martinelli can play there too - injured too. goal scoring defender - injured too. We basically need to hang on at this point and hope we are not too far behind come January. Options up front are Merino, Trossard and the 17year old kid.
