So the SD who has hired and fired the last 2 Head Coaches is relieved of that job - thank god - and is replaced by a committee - recipe for disaster - with the ultimate decision resting with an american owner who knows as much about English football as I know about Japanese poetry. What could possibly go wrong!!
Yes I’ve been doing a quick scour of the dreaded X which has thrown up a few names, Phillippe Clement being one. Another being Willfried Nancy (MLS Columbus Crew Manager) he has been rumoured to have been in London for several interviews including Celtic. Hamarby manager - Kim Hellberg another rumoured to have been of interest to us Swansea and Middlesbrough, both have had the betting suspended in him. The below being mentioned without any real substance. Mark Fotherigham Brendan Rodgers John Terry Ole Gunnar Solksjaer Steven Gerrard Patrick Viera Michael Carrick - I think he has been ruled out
Here's an excerpt from a piece in the Glasgow press introducing Clement to Rangers fans, few of whom had even heard of him. “He is used to working with clubs where you need to perform, where there is pressure from the fans and media. He is capable of meeting those standards and capable of working under pressure. He's a massive, charismatic guy. When he walks into a room he’s got this presence because of his size. He came into the club and created this feeling of being a family. And he's somebody that likes to get everybody around him. That's one of the reasons we had success initially,” was how a source at Monaco described his impact in France. Another source used this example of Clement’s leadership under tricky circumstances: “He showed at Monaco when they were suffering, Philippe will make players believe they can do so much more than they have been. For a team in a crisis or a squad low on confidence, he can be decisive in these moments."
