I have unpinned the two threads mentioned. The first team matches and the Stats can remain Sticky’s if that is ok with you @lardiman
As I haven’t been backed up by people who should know better, this isn’t a battle worth having & there are other things to be getting on with in life. Good luck to Ponders, typical, putters, dicky etc Lets let Lardi back as Mod , let the two sulkers return with him, and return Not Football 606 to its glory days of last Summer, when 12 of the top 15 threads on here had nothing to do with football, or Charlton, but the 3.5 regular posters had a whale of a time, 1.5 of them exchanging hilarious “banter”, and Lardi posting 5,000 word essays about conspiracy theories. Rather than fall out with 2-3 people I have absolutely nothing in common with, I’ll depart for good, and let Lardy and the Sulkers return. I would conclude by saying I was far from the only poster who didn’t want Lardi as Mod.
Who moderates this forum was not an issue that ever came up before you returned. Now you have what you and your supposed many friends wanted. Not606 Charlton has a new moderator. Unlike you, I'm happy to support his efforts to look after this forum. I back @Dick Plumb1 100% And now, because everything still isn't exactly the way you'd like it to be here, you're walking out again. Things will not just magically revert back to the way they were before you dropped back in. Your actions have had consequences here. It's a pity (but not unexpected) that you choose to abdicate all responsibility for them. I'll never ask to be moderator of this forum again. I have too much respect for @Dick Plumb1 and for @brb to run around that hamster wheel again for your amusement. I hope that makes you happy. Say hi to Reams and the gang on ITTV for us
I won’t be going back on ITTV, as unlike you I don’t need a football forum to qualify my existence. You are claiming that you were somehow bullied off 606 as a Mod, when all you were repeatedly asked to do was focus on football or even sport, and not use this forum as a vehicle for the many bees in your bonnet. It’s a statement of fact that hardly anyone posted on here & the vast majority of threads were not related to football. 12 of the first 15 threads on here under your Moderating had nothing to do with football. And I know it annoys low watt @Smudger603 to mention it (he’s blocked me messsing him ) but you were not asked on here to post about 90% of the stuff you have ended up posting about. I am happy to leave you to it, life is too short & I have literally nothing in common with you, or the handful of people who have been supporting you in your little campaign. All the best.
The only campaign was yours - to get me out of the moderator job. Everything that has happened since is down to your actions. Go or stay, I don't care. You're not my headache anymore.
I see you like the old DM’ing Nick - you never fail to disappoint - I see yet another comeback after saying you’re leaving . Go “sulk” as you put it - you’re self importance won’t be missed
My apologies Dick but when someone attacks me about DM’s when they’re the worlds worst offenders I will stand my ground - he then goes on with personal insults …… on a forum - what a big man he is - normal service resumed
Wow again. Just checked in and it's all gone off again after settling down. I incline to the side of those who think topics should be CAFC related as a priority, and football related as a secondary. However I see no problem with threads about random stuff, especially during quiet weeks. I tend not to bother reading them but I don't get wound up by their existence. And I certainly never feel the need to insult anyone with an opposing view even if someone has a pop at me. It's not sufficiently important. I think Dick is doing fine, although as he said it's hard to see why he bothers.
It’s been another trying day on here. It would be good to concentrate on what this forum should be about.
Just get Charlton not 606 back to talking about football and God forbid Charlton, and all is good. It’s no coincidence that the two posters who insisted / sulked about all the **** non football threads are the same two that don’t go to the games. Elfs is an amusing character occasionally, but he uses this forum like his personal litter tray - look at the contrast to his posts on CL (all of which are ignored). Lardi was asked on numerous occasions to change his ways & stop moving posts at 3am in the morning, but his listening skills are not the best. We then very quickly get the “poor me, poor me, pour me another” routine from him. On reflection, I won’t be going anywhere. I’ll be staying on here, posting away about Charlton & sport in general
Great post. Better still, you’ve managed to string 3 sentences together. Are you auditioning for Mod ?
On the western front, staying in a rather swish Airbnb in Ypres. Just did the Menin Gate and the Last Post, which was incredibly moving yet again. Visited Poperinge earlier for Talbot House, the condemned cells and both military cemeteries. Placed a poppy on the headstone of Eric Poole, who was executed for cowardice in December 1916, even though it was obvious he was suffering from shell-shock. Tomorrow begins with the Flanders Fields Museum, then on to Sanctuary Woods and the Hooge Crater. Keep it nice and cool, guys. I'll restore order on my return Friday.
Fabulous trip. I’m so envious. Gonna do it again soon. can u let me know the travel agency you went with (if u did) amd if u recommend them.
My son and I are doing it all by public transport, walking and taxis. We caught the early Eurostar from St Pancras this morning and were in Brussels by 10am. Once you are in the Ypres Salient everything is close by. The buses and trains here are excellent and always on time. But if you wanted the easier option of a guided tour, you could go with one of the numerous companies in the area. Trouble is, guided tours are a little rushed. I like to take my time in a few choice locations rather than hopping on and off a coach. The name of this pad is Oldsaxo. It's on Airbnb. It's perfect for a couple. Clean, well-ordered and perfectly situated. You'll struggle to find better value.
