Another brace for the one season wonder. Puts him comfortably on track for 100 international goals, which would be unbelievable irrespective of how many people moan about easy qualifiers/friendlies/penalties/all of the above.
Italy are weirdly abysmal when it comes to World Cups. How many have they failed to even qualify for in recent years?
He’s a special, special player. Love seeing what he’s doing for England and Bayern, deserves all the success and plaudits he can get. I’m still clinging to the hope we haven’t seen the last of him in a Spurs shirt though.
I was confident about it until that interview he gave in the summer which poured quite a bit of cold water on the idea. I think the only two factors that could entice him to come back are the prospect of breaking Shearer's record and that of winning a trophy with Spurs, and sadly neither of those looks particularly likely at the moment. He certainly won't come back while he's still tearing the Bundesliga to pieces, which I expect will be the case for the next 2-3 years minimum such is his longevity. Would a 35 year old Kane come back to the PL (or the Championship, if we're in it by then )? Maybe. But I'm starting to resign myself to him moving to the MLS, finishing his career there and then getting fully involved with the NFL.
Possibly a controversial opinion...but I wouldn't be starting Bellingham (on current form and attitude) in the WC. Yes, he's a talented footballer, but I think there are better options in his position to help create a potentially tournament winning team. His time at RM doesn't appear to have either improved his skills or his commitment. Strolling around like Billy Big Bollox and then showing off when getting subbed after 84 minutes.
Yeah the interview definitely seemed to pour a bit of cold water on a return, there’s also small whispers that Barca want him in the summer to replace Lewandowski, though not sure if they have enough shirt buttons to afford him. I’m still refusing to give up hope though. Shearer’s record and (hopefully) one final crack at winning something with us might sway him eventually. I’ll still take him back at 37+, he’d likely still be better than 90% of strikers around anyway.
BILGE casually mentioned a few weeks ago he has a €65m release clause which activates next summer ...Barca would have to sell a couple of players to meet that, mind
He's now scored more international goals than Pele. Still worth mentioning that Nigel Pearson once had Kane, Jamie Vardy and Chris Wood in his squad. The then Leicester manager still preferred David Nugent up front. In the ****ing Championship. They came 6th and failed to cheat their way to the play-off final:
