Judging by the ammount of toilet paper I buy I think I must have some Americans hiding in my house

Americans use an average of 141 rolls per capita a year which is equivalent to 12.7 kilograms (28 lb) of tissue paper per year.[55] This figure is about 50% more than the average of other Western countries or Japan.[56]

Unfortunately, that's not the answer anymore - someone cultivated Pepper X which beats the Carolina Reaper by quite a bit...

Pepper X is a cultivar of chili pepper recognized by Guinness World Records in 2023 as the world's hottest chili pepper.[1] It was bred by Ed Currie, the creator of the Carolina Reaper.[2][3][4]

As of Sept. 25, 2025, there are currently 8,475 Starlink satellites in orbit, of which how many are working?

I've just started a new project installing these to remote sites where BT landline and microwave can't reach, it's a really good system with significant speed uogrades on the old satellite comms we used to use. Pretty much most of their Low Earth Orbit satellites are working, so I'd guess at 8450

As well as winning a Grammy in 1977 for best comedy performance, who won a Grammy for best country instrumental in 2001 for playing the banjo?

Huddled around their tables, locals poured into The Barking Dog each week to take on a pub quiz - but one thing was amiss.

The same team kept winning the prize of a £30 bar tab, leaving regulars scratching their heads and some stopped turning up in protest.

Then, a twist. Bosses at the pub in Urmston, Greater Manchester, said they received an anonymous tip-off and caught the team "cheating red-handed" when players were spotted whispering into their smartwatches to get answers.

They revealed the curious goings-on in an Instagram post last week - and it swiftly went viral, attracting interest from people around the world.

Here at the Barking Dog on a damp, dark Wednesday night this week, BBC News has come along to witness the first edition of the quiz since the scandal emerged.

And regulars have made a packed return, with 17 teams taking part, though the almost Traitors-like tale of alleged cheating looms large.
