Bloody hell, I know exactly what I was doing 25 years ago, moving into our current house. The worrying thing is even then I was old.
You look back at that time, and for me (I was there as a teenager), it's hard to believe that we had a squad that good. I know it happened, but thinking back, it's hard to compute that we had a squad with the likes of Nigel Martyn, Lucas Radebe, Rio Ferdinand, Harry Kewell, Oliver Dacourt, Mark Viduka, Robbie Fowler, and Robbie Keane. I watch these podcasts on YouTube, and I'm like ****, we had that squad.
I know, it’s even worse for me, before that I started watching the early Revie team when I was 12. it was many years before I realised it wasn’t automatic the same 11 players turned out week in week out, and it wasn’t automatic we would dominate the fck out of every other team, whoever they were did not matter.
I’d add, I loved watching the Revie team away from home. High spot was a Scum friend (I know, I’m ashamed) at University inviting me to watch scum v Leeds. We controlled the entire game, they hardly had a sniff, we won 0-1 - magical. His face was a picture
