A very apt name... Have never understood why people like/wear them - the last time I wore one was at my older sister's wedding in the 68/69 promotion season. Horrible, pointless things.
My Dad was a shop manager at Burtons for decades (should have been an Area Manager but he couldn't be bothered with the stress) and the Half Windsor knot was de-rigeur! For a thinner tie where a wider knot would look better then it would be a full Windsor. I like ties when the occasion calls. Hatches, Matches, and Despatches, only though. Oh, and job interviews.
