I appreciate I sound like a moaning , old ball bag but I’ve got to say this; Why do the commentators, whilst watching England say’ Let’s hope the Ireland and Scotland teams can get positive results and qualify’ ? The boring tit who was commentating said it last night. Why? Do the Mick( my grandparents were Irish so I can say that) or Jock commentators say that about England? Do they ****ers like, can’t wait for us to get beat. I personally hope both teams, along with the Welsh, get battered every time they play.
They definitely 100% don't and there's always, since I can remember, been that from our commentators*. On another note, when I've watched Final Score in Scotland, they barely even mentioned the English scores that appeared on the Vidiprinter (given this was a few years ago) Personally, I want them all to qualify as I think it's more interesting/don't mind them, but in all sincerity, am really not bothered either way. And, in my experience, I have found my indifference actually cuts more sharply than loudly slagging them off or wanting them to fail. Edit - * I think it does come from a place of them being seen as a dominion of ours, even subconsciously. Actively, spending time hating them, is kind of seeing them on an equal footing in some ways.
I actually can't wait for Scotland to qualify as they will get embarrassed in every game, fans frantically cancelling their hotel rooms and arranging early flights home just as most England fans will be flying out to take in our games from the last 8 onwards.
Ah get over yourself. It's all good-natured banter. This guy cracks me up...if it isn't the English, it is the Yanks and the French he goes after, especially the last two. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/yGizPLNzJf4
