Listened to Kagey earlier in the week about how the footballing world feels about Dan Farke and what really surprised me was the actual lack of enquiries about him. Over the last 2 seasons when Leeds have been flying there have been no links, not any single link to another club wanting him, not one. Not even one rumour or clickbait site. Last season alone we all saw stories linking Kieron Maguire to plenty of clubs even Man Utd. Michael Carrick linked elsewhere or how about Russel Martin. Every job that comes up you never ever see DF on the bookies list yet see all sorts of names out of left field. Wednesday of this week for the first time DF was second favourite for the Norwich job. Amazing. So wonder why he seems to be toxic, not even clubs in Germany speak of him. Even Michael Skibula is mentioned for nearly every EFL job (Maybe we should have stuck with him instead of Gracia etc) even Gary O’Neil is mentioned for every job that comes up even in the Prem. Steve Gerrard mentioned daily…. Just saying!

Lots of stuff coming out this last few days and most of it not good news. I have already posted a quick report on the Investors meeting where there were only 3 items on the agenda: 1) Danelle Farke, 2) January Transfer window, 3) Stadium redevelopment. So lots of not happy campers attending that. Since this happened 3 weeks ago there has been a glut or a slew of football finance experts who have gone into print or spoke on podcasts about how Robbie Evan’s and club are talking shyt about maxing out their PSR. These so called experts to a man all say Leeds didn’t have the PSR bandwidth of Sunderland but could have easily extended to £135m spend. Then another report has slipped out which was supposed to be confidential for the 49ers premium investors, you know the guys who have stumped up tens of millions. Marathe is quoted as saying the plan for the next 3 years is for the club to stick with Farke and for the team to finish 16th this season, next season 15th and to aim for 12th the season after. This plan is a survival strategy but a just surviving plan and hardly the utopia fans were promised about European football. Ger from the Leeds View has also mentioned this same thing earlier this week. This would mean the club sticking with Farke, gambling on survival, spending hardly any money for three years and I can only guess that the club will then be auctioned off and the 49ers Enterprise Investors cashing in their chips. The 49ers are actually worse than Raddrizani as at least he had the club and fans at heart but didn’t have the cash. The 49ers want a big payout end of, and are willing to gamble with the poor quality of squad and coach with a view of JUST SURVIVING.

Many will know Moscow White, real name Dan Chapman he published a great piece on this:
    https://www.leedsista.com/nottingham-forest-3-1-leeds-united-noise-and-hunches/

Who knows what to believe as we are told Farke’s job is safe, some say 4 games to prove himself, some say owners speaking to replacement and now Moscow Whites piece?

What a pathetic season this has turned out to be. Even worse than I feared. Nothing else for fans to talk about all season other than Farke.

Cannot disagree with that Kev but then you have to ask who is to blame? Burnley doing what we expected and Sunderland doing what we didn’t expect and Leeds falling down the back of the couch. Was it:
    • Employing Steinsson and then “promoting him”
    • Was it Adam Underwood
    • Was it the 49ers and why allowing Kinnear and his team to walk
    • Was it FARKE and his tactics
    • Was it the players not following instructions

I said early on Kinnear walking was a big red flag for me. He'd previously warned of the futility of buying 10 to 20m pound players for the pl. He then walks out or is forced out just when the 49ers were set to repeat that strategy. I don't know who's to blame and not terribly bothered, but most of it is on the owners shoulders. They recruited the manager and most of the current squad and the staff behind the scenes. All irrelevant now as the script has been written for the season

So let’s take this a step further. Let’s assume December brings a new manager. The 49ers have already said there will be no transfer activity in January so this will be basically the squad for the remainder of the season. Houdini wouldn’t get 25 points out of this lot and I don’t care how many pairs of rose tinted glasses you put on. There will have to be quality injected into this lacklustre squad. I don’t know how it can be done

If you belive Robby Evan’s we are skint but now plenty of “experts” say that’s bollox and we have £40m to spend. There are also plenty saying the £40m is for an exceptional striker, but like you I think we also need an exceptional creator, either a 10 or another top winger who can play left or right. To do that we need to sell and the players with any value are Piroe, Gruev or Tanaka even Struijk, Gnonto and Bornuaw. Meslier and Harrison need moving too.

    where to unpack this motherload...

Why isn't Farke ever linked with any job? I think it's his attitude. He's had public spats with Spence and Creswell. There were rumours that he didn't want Largie and Schmidt, so he left them on the bench. TBH, I think he was pretty far down the 49ers list 2 years ago, as there was a host of names before Farke was even mentioned.

2 years ago, I said that the 49ers didn't give a **** (like most American Owners) and that it was a money-making scheme for them. Yes, they will sell the club but it won't be auctioned; it will be sold to Red Bull. Red Bull wanted to buy us 12 years ago, but was put off by the fans' reaction, or the owners (The Arabs) didn't sell so given a 2nd chance with some greedy ass yanks and they're going through the back door route and buying shares a bit at a time. I'm not sure, but i think they did this with Saltzberg.

Something else that winds me about all this is that at a time of total jubilation and pride that we and I include the 49ers had a great strategy for winning the league and it worked later than we hoped but it worked. It was at this point that the next strategy needed hatching but the 49ers decided not to do what many recommended and that was sacking DF and bringing in a big name replacement. Instead Marathe supported DF but then watched a pack of cards collapse around him, when the whole recruitment team walked and the so-called leader of that was promoted to head of global football even though they have no global football. Why wasn’t he involved in our window? Underwood in charge of the academy now supposed to find talent to sign when he has no experience of doing it oh and we had a Cheif scout to help? All these people left and we had no list of targets from them, I dont get it? Kinnear walked and so too did Nick Hammond the guy who had been there since 2023 ffs what a lash up. So yes our summer window wasn’t great up top but would love to know what the fook happened to see it fall over so fast.

We're skint.... bollocks. At the start of the window, they were talking about a £150,000,000 transfer budget. We couldn't get Hamer over the line cos we couldn't get rid of the useless French prick. Between these windows, we've been linked with Harry Wilson, Chris Wood, Hadji Wright, Josh Sergant and Issouf Sissokho.

We need to clear room before we bring someone else in, and I don't think we can sell Mes, Gruev, and Piroe

I think Farke will go if we lose to Villa, and we're not averaging a point a game.

Wouldn't read too much into lack of links. Leeds is again an attractive job, thanks to the promotion in 2020 and couple of survival years. Packed out stadium, what's not to love?

He doesn't have an English playing career to give him those easy "links". If he'd played 5 seasons at Everton, I'm sure he'd have got a mention when Sean went last season.

Kemar Roofe just signed as a free agent for Wolves, still most likely better than what we have atm

    BBC making things up again?

League Two leaders Walsall have added former Leeds United and Rangers striker Kemar Roofe on a short-term deal until January.

The 32-year-old joins the Saddlers as a free agent having left Derby County in the summer after making only three appearances in the second half of last season.

Think the BBC are slightly more reliable than Gessa on this occasion, as its confirmed on the Walsall website ;)
