Corberán odds tumble

Whilst a managerial change at Leeds United in the immediate future appears unlikely, recent shifts in betting patterns have sparked excitement among Whites fans. Three horse race - who would you choose?

Daniel Farke’s tenure at Leeds United is highly unlikely to run the course of the season, even if he conjures a remarkable turnaround in the next four games; it's just the climate of modern day football. Looking at the top three contenders, tipped to oust the German are Marco Rose, Brendan Rodgers, and Carlos Corberán. Each present a compelling case why they should be next in line for the Elland Road hot seat!

Rose’s aggressive, high-pressing style would dovetail neatly with Leeds’ tradition of dynamic, attacking football, aligning with the high-intensity ethos the Elland Road faithful have long admired. His commitment to counter-pressing and tactical flexibility across systems like 4-4-2, 4-3-3, and 4-2-3-1 suggests he could both entertain and adapt to the Premier League’s demands.

Corberán, meanwhile, carries an emotional connection to the club, having served under Marcelo Bielsa and earned respect for his tactical intelligence and ability to elevate squads with limited resources. His climb to third favourite in betting odds is telling, yet his relatively short managerial résumé could be seen as a calculated gamble, potentially worth taking for a manager capable of marrying defensive discipline with intelligent build-up play.

There needs to be a change and it needs to be someone credible. One man not mentioned is Roger Schmidt and he probably has the best CV of them all especially with Benfica winning the lot and a 70% win ratio. Rodgers is a worry as much of his success at Leicester was down to brilliant buying in the French market and all those players who came in went to top teams for massive profit, some to Man City, Arsenal and PSG, Bayern Munich etc. so that made them tons of cash. At Liverpool his dick got in the way and after doing pretty well there he scored in bed with a staff member. He is also a bit arrogant and can sulk and indeed walk away. Corberan walks away too but in a good way. He takes the club as far as they can go on the budget he has and then says sorry guys I’m not willing to just sit and watch the club go backwards. Huddersfield on the verge of relegation he saves them and without cash takes them into the play offs the following season. Did exactly the same at WBA but due to clubs being skint ……. Having the same problem now at Valencia as he got them there best results and league position last season but the club sold his best players and now struggling

Don’t want Rodgers anywhere near the club. Hasn’t won much that would justify his arrogance.

Silverware at Celtic doesn’t count. So just an FA cup at Leicester then.

 

So we get to choose who comes. That’s a pleasant change. We normally have to try convince someone to take the gig. How times have changed. Anyway I’m enjoying the international break. Pity it wouldn’t go on for a few More Months. Great to see players giving their all for a shirt and it’s not about the cash
