Good Morning. It's Friday 14th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Corberán odds tumble Whilst a managerial change at Leeds United in the immediate future appears unlikely, recent shifts in betting patterns have sparked excitement among Whites fans. The Elland Road hot seat, currently occupied by Daniel Farke, has seen a reshuffling of potential successors, with notable movements among the favourites. Former Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose opened as hot favourite at 11/8 with talkSport Bets but has since drifted to 13/8. Close behind is Brendan Rodgers, whose odds have shortened slightly from 3/1 to 5/2, reflecting growing confidence in his candidacy. The biggest surprise, however, is Carlos Corberán, who was initially omitted from a 38-strong contender list but has surged to third favourite at 4/1. Given his three-year spell at Leeds from 2017 to 2020 under Marcelo Bielsa, and his successful stints at Huddersfield Town, West Bromwich Albion, and now Valencia, his sudden rise has captured attention. Corberán is lauded for his tactical nous, ability to extract maximum performance from limited resources, and defensive organisation. Yet, at 40 years old, he remains a relatively fresh face in management—bringing both risk and excitement to a Premier League appointment. By contrast, Brendan Rodgers boasts silverware from Celtic and Leicester, established player development skills, and top-flight experience, though some critics point to mixed results in the transfer market. Below are the latest odds from talkSport Bets: Marco Rose – 13/8 Brendan Rodgers – 5/2 Carlos Corberán – 4/1 Steven Gerrard – 8/1 Gary O’Neil – 16/1 Inigo Perez – 20/1 Erik ten Hag – 20/1 Michael Carrick – 20/1 Ange Postecoglou – 20/1 Mark Robins – 20/1 Kjetil Knutsen – 20/1 Robbie Keane – 25/1 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – 25/1 Sergio Conceicao – 25/1 Ralph Hasenhuttl – 25/1 Kevin Muscat – 25/1 Edin Terzic – 25/1 Giovanni van Bronckhorst – 25/1 Adi Hutter – 25/1 Russell Martin – 25/1 Derek McInnes – 25/1 Frank Lampard – 25/1 Gareth Southgate – 25/1 David Moyes – 33/1 Rui Borges – 33/1 Rui Vitoria – 33/1 Eduardo Coudet – 33/1 Thiago Motta – 33/1 Igor Tudor – 33/1 Gennaro Gattuso – 33/1 Henrik Rydström – 33/1 Michael Skubala – 33/1 Michael Beale – 33/1 Ruud van Nistelrooy – 33/1 Jose Luis Mendilibar – 33/1 Pedro Martins – 33/1 Bruno Lage – 33/1 Carlos Carvalhal – 33/1 Steve Clarke – 33/1 Farke has four games to turn things around, but a poor result against Aston Villa will test the resolve of 49ers Enterprises. Whether the future brings an accomplished trophy-winner like Rodgers, a Bundesliga strategist such as Rose, or the return of the innovative and passionate Corberán, speculation is unlikely to disappear any time soon. please log in to view this image Three horse race - who would you choose? Daniel Farke’s tenure at Leeds United is highly unlikely to run the course of the season, even if he conjures a remarkable turnaround in the next four games; it's just the climate of modern day football. Looking at the top three contenders, tipped to oust the German are Marco Rose, Brendan Rodgers, and Carlos Corberán. Each present a compelling case why they should be next in line for the Elland Road hot seat! Rose’s aggressive, high-pressing style would dovetail neatly with Leeds’ tradition of dynamic, attacking football, aligning with the high-intensity ethos the Elland Road faithful have long admired. His commitment to counter-pressing and tactical flexibility across systems like 4-4-2, 4-3-3, and 4-2-3-1 suggests he could both entertain and adapt to the Premier League’s demands. Corberán, meanwhile, carries an emotional connection to the club, having served under Marcelo Bielsa and earned respect for his tactical intelligence and ability to elevate squads with limited resources. His climb to third favourite in betting odds is telling, yet his relatively short managerial résumé could be seen as a calculated gamble, potentially worth taking for a manager capable of marrying defensive discipline with intelligent build-up play. Rodgers, on the other hand, is the proven performer: a decorated career boasting domestic dominance at Celtic, FA Cup glory with Leicester City, and a track record of player development at the highest level. While questions linger over his recruitment record, he's the only one of the three with Premier League experience. Ultimately, the fans’ choice could hinge on whether they value tactical evolution steeped in club history, proven silverware-winning credibility, or a bold, emotionally charged gamble on a rising star. please log in to view this image
There needs to be a change and it needs to be someone credible. One man not mentioned is Roger Schmidt and he probably has the best CV of them all especially with Benfica winning the lot and a 70% win ratio. Rodgers is a worry as much of his success at Leicester was down to brilliant buying in the French market and all those players who came in went to top teams for massive profit, some to Man City, Arsenal and PSG, Bayern Munich etc. so that made them tons of cash. At Liverpool his dick got in the way and after doing pretty well there he scored in bed with a staff member. He is also a bit arrogant and can sulk and indeed walk away. Corberan walks away too but in a good way. He takes the club as far as they can go on the budget he has and then says sorry guys I’m not willing to just sit and watch the club go backwards. Huddersfield on the verge of relegation he saves them and without cash takes them into the play offs the following season. Did exactly the same at WBA but due to clubs being skint ……. Having the same problem now at Valencia as he got them there best results and league position last season but the club sold his best players and now struggling
Morning all, Don’t want Rodgers anywhere near the club. Hasn’t won much that would justify his arrogance. Silverware at Celtic doesn’t count. So just an FA cup at Leicester then.
So we get to choose who comes. That’s a pleasant change. We normally have to try convince someone to take the gig. How times have changed. Anyway I’m enjoying the international break. Pity it wouldn’t go on for a few More Months. Great to see players giving their all for a shirt and it’s not about the cash
