Apologies for going slightly off piste from a Pompey point of view.

Does anyone know what on earth is happening with The Hawks?

When they were relegated from National League South I fully expected them to bounce straight back, as they did the only previous time they were relegated to the 7th tier.

However, after an 'ordinary' season last year, they now currently find themselves in the relegation zone of the Southern League Premier South, almost a third of the way in.

Could they find themselves in the 8th tier (for the first time in their history) next season?

I wonder if anyone can cast some light on the situation....

What a shame, eh devo. I thought when Shaun North left Pompey's Academy as coach and joined the Hawks, things would work out well. He has a lot of contacts in the game having been Jim Smith's assistant coach at Oxford United some years ago. He has signed quite a few ex-Pompey youngsters when they have left the academy, and have Ruben Swann on loan from Pompey for the second season running. It just doesn't seem to be working does it!

Let's hope he can turn things round for them......

Following a detailed review and after careful consideration, the Board of Directors have agreed that it is in the best interests of Havant & Waterlooville Football Club to part company with Shaun North with immediate effect.
This decision has not been taken lightly. The Board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Shaun for his commitment, professionalism, and the hard work he has dedicated to the club during his time in charge. We wish him every success in his future career.

While we understand that changes of this nature can evoke strong feelings, we want to assure our supporters that this decision has been made solely with the long-term interests and stability of the club in mind. As custodians of Havant & Waterlooville FC, the Board’s responsibility is to protect the club’s future, both on and off the pitch, and to ensure that we remain sustainable and competitive.

The process to identify and appoint a new manager will begin immediately. During this period, day-to-day football operations will be overseen by Cliff De Gordon ensuring continuity and focus for the playing squad.

We are extremely grateful to our loyal supporters for their continued backing. Your passion and commitment are what drive this club forward, and together we will work towards a stronger future for The Hawks.
