Next on the agenda a taxi rank style area outside the training ground to stop Adam Pearson jumping in front of players cars for autographs
Peter Silverstone, chief commercial officer, has been placed on gardening leave (our pitch must be stunning by now) as he leaves the club. Not clear whose decision it was.
CEO doing a 100 day review.......A CEO who's background is in commercial sports partnerships and sponsorships.......That could spot a fraud a mile out within seconds......A CEO who immediately after his appointment VISA came in out of nowhere (Middle Eastern dividion - could be a coincidence) which is a bit of an upgrade on Pete's **** like sportsbreaks.com, Sportsbet.io, BYDFI InPost and VT Markets. Sela and Noon were already in place. Adidas only left because they couldn't stand the fat ****ing parasite and his tat shop in the first place. Saudia isn't on him that's the PIF thats brought them in, BET MGM are Saudi owned n all, Carling were already there, Changing Monster to RedBull energy drinks is an easy win on a renewal, Fenwick's is a tap in, and I have a sneaky suspicion that the JD Sports deal was Amanada giving Mike one final "**** You". So he's not exactly done an awful lot other than ****ing up the ticketing system and bringing in memberships.
Not necessarily. Gardening leave is to prevent company secrets and potentially sensitive data from changing hands, especially when the person moving employment is moving to a competitor (Juventus in this case, I heard). So it's fairly common (especially for high level execs) to have a gardening leave clause in a contract to cease working immediately on handing in a notice of resignation while seeing out their notice period.
Is anything actually happening at Newcastle United? Does anyone have any insight because literally everything seems to have stalled - on the pitch, commercially, developments, etc.
I assume the brand new CEO is still doing his 100 day deep dive in to everything that is happening. I assume he will then come up with things we'll see openly
Yeah I’m not super confident having seen some footage. He’s an American, which is alarming enough, but his entire senior history is about monetising sport, which would be fine if he’d replaced Silverstone but not as CEO. Again it doesn’t look like a great PIF appointment, time will tell I suppose.
