Done. Have they advertised that they are available? I can't remember seeing anything.

Absolutely not. We’re flying in a lot of departments but the ticketing communication is way off currently.

We could push the attendance up towards our home EFL trophy numbers (shudder) if we pitch it right. Make a few quid in food and beverages as well

If anyone is planning on going and parking in the west stand car park, download the Evology parking app and set up an account before you go down. It was a bit of a chew on doing it on the night.

Sunderland Under-21s ran out 7-1 winners over Athletic Club at the Stadium of Light in their International Premier League Cup clash.

Goals came from Jake Waters (2), Jaydon Jones, Timur Tutierov, Dan Neil, Dennis Cirkin, and Ben Middlemas.

With several first-team players featuring, Sunderland started at a blistering pace, and after just two minutes, Waters opened the scoring. The forward received a precise pass from Cirkin inside the area and calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. It was Waters’ first start in over two years and his second goal in two games following last week’s PL2 strike against Ipswich.

Just nine minutes later, Jaydon Jones doubled the lead. Intercepting a misplaced pass from the Athletic Club defence, Jaydon calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

On 25 minutes, Jaydon turned provider, playing a perfectly weighted pass to Tutierov. Tutierov cut inside from the left before firing a low, precise shot beyond the reach of Iker Pagazartundia to make it 3-0.

Athletic Club pulled one back moments later through Jesus Vizcay, who finished from close range after a scramble in the Sunderland penalty area.

Sunderland quickly responded on 38 minutes when Neil made it 4-1. Neil collected the ball outside the area, drove forward and unleashed a powerful strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Into stoppage time of the first half, Waters completed his brace and Sunderland’s fifth goal. Middlemas wove a mazy run through the Athletic Club defence before laying the ball perfectly for Waters, who finished confidently.

Early in the second half, Cirkin made it 6-1. The full-back cut inside onto his right foot and curled a beautiful effort into the bottom-right corner.

Middlemas wrapped up the scoring on 80 minutes, intercepting a loose pass before calmly slotting into the bottom corner to make it 7-1 and secure a comprehensive win for Murty’s side.

Sunderland Under-21s will next face Sporting Lisbon in the International Premier League Cup next Thursday.

    Sunderland Starting XI:
Blondy Nna-Noukeu, Jenson Jones, Dennis Cirkin (Lightfoot), Dan Neil, Luke O’Nien, Ben Kindon, Felix Scott (Walsh), Jaydon Jones, Jake Waters (Moore), Ben Middlemas, Timur Tutierov (Neill)

    Subs:
    Ben Metcalf, Finlay Holcroft

7-1 v a club renowned for their youth policy looks like an incredible showing.

    Wish I’d watched.

I'd like the reports to be a bit more accurate rather than bigging the players up all the time:

"Neil collected the ball outside the area, drove forward and unleashed a powerful strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance"

It was a goalkeeping error imo. Neil's shot wasn't massively well struck and the keeper got a good hand to it.

If you can't "big the players up" after a 7-1 win when can you? :emoticon-0136-giggl
