Solanke over Richarlison any day of the week even though he’s not a natural goal scorer either. Has more to his game and I’d definitely keep him over Richarlison if 1 is to be sold anytime soon

Honestly, both are very streaky players

The difference is that their floors are very different: Solanke will still press hard and hold up the ball even if he's in a bad patch of form, while Richy is more likely to bag a goal here and there when in bad form as he's got the instincts for it

Realistically, though, Solanke does seem to be a better fit for Frank's system because he'd be able to bring in Kudus, Kulusevski, Simons and Tel to finish, while Richy is the opposite as he needs those players to cue him up as he doesn't offer much to our buildup play at all

I'd also smile a lot if I was paid £80k a week to run around aimlessly, occasionally dramatically throwing myself to the floor.

This season, the only way you are going to get
great performances out of him is if he thinks
his club form will wreck his selection for the
    Brasil WC 2026 squad.

AFAIK Brasil is not overflowing with several
    world-class forwards at the moment.

It isn't but there's an enormous amount of competition for the spot, much of it coming from PL players who are mostly younger than him.

João Pedro, Igor Jesus, Igor Thiago are all more exciting options than him up top. Estevao and Cunha can also do a job there if needed.

On the contrary, I think he is feeling the pressure of not being an automatic starter, and this is feeding into his already notoriously low self confidence.

Club form is apparently overrated for the Selecao, considering Savinho gets in the squad in spite not playing - and not having the balls to try and remedy this situation either

I can't imagine he gets picked over Vinicius Jr particularly often.

The thing that bothers me is he said he wanted regular football going into a World Cup year, but did nothing to get it

Or, to put it another way, he served to demonstrate that club loyalty bonuses are just this century's version of the Retain & Transfer system, because if a player hands in a transfer request it's going to cost them
