To be fair I don't think people are saying he's a problem, it's just that usual thing of having good work rate in some people's minds makes him a world beater, but in others his deficiencies make him an average player who presses and works very hard.

We can’t afford not to, we can’t risk missing any more payments, Acun can’t back us with money he doesn’t have. If premier league interest in Joseph turns into bids on the table he’s gone I’m afraid.

Slater. He’s developed great touch and ball technique this season he had never showed he was capable of previously.

Assuming this post relates to the one about Joseph and you misquoted I know for a fact Brentford have been watching him, but I would expect there will be interest from quite a few others.

Players develop at different rates, you could see when he came to us he wasn't physically developed. A few people on here commented how he had bulked up over the summer, he looks stronger now. Players like wayne rooney banging them in at 16 are few and far between, we need to be patient with him as a goal scorer but unlike Chris Bedia and other recent strikers we have had he is offering a hell of a lot more than goals.

But people are saying he won't be worth his place in the team - which I think is very harsh considering the run of form we are on.

I know its a discussion forum and we have to talk about something, but I don't understand the desire to put down a player that is doing well. Lets save it for when we are a bit ****.

I'm not putting him down at all, I love him and desperately want him to do well.

I just think it's a fair point to say that due to his technical deficiencies, there's no way you can say he's a starter over Millar or McBurnie (both of whom work incredibly hard also).

I think a lot of it is perceptions of what other people think and people reacting to that, probably on both sides.

The way I see it, players can be average and achieve nothing and it goes unnoticed, but if they run around too much, they get pigeonholed as headless chickens and the scrutiny on their output is much greater. People like Akintola who I keep mentioning, or Palmer for maybe a better example, have contributed less than Joseph but because they don't have his energy they don't attract the same scrutiny. And I bet Joseph is on the lowest wage of the three as well.

Joseph is much better than either of those, they’re both just ****. There isn’t a debate to be had.

To be fair it's widely acknowledged that Akintola isn't very good and that Palmer's output is woeful.

Neither have started more than two games, Joseph starts every week so of course he gets more scrutiny. He's also playing a striker but can't hit a barn door most of the time, so there is some discussion to be had there, of course there is!

Palmer had a bit of a run in the side late last season that helped us survive with a couple of vital assists and (I think) a goal, at a time when we couldnt buy even a chance to score. He's not a bad player at all but he's more suited to slow build up then threading the killer pass through, which we don't really do.

Akintola is quite erratic, but he's not poor either. He hasn't had a run in the side and he's new to the league, but his directness could at least be useful to the way that we play and he's also willing to do the defensive duties as well. I wouldn't write him off yet as a squad option by any means.

Joseph gets far less grief than those two, purely because most people have made their minds up on the aforementioned already.

Don’t think he’s got on the pitch since he was subbed at half time vs Preston? Deservedly too, he failed to track back for one of their goals and then just gave the ball away for 45 minutes.
Shame because he.had shown some good touches in previous games. Wonder if he ‘s on the ‘naughty’ step, and he will comeback running round like Joseph?

These comments about Joseph running around suggest he is just a headless chicken.
The block on the goalkeeper latel in the game broke down their play and allowed us to reset.
It brought applause from all around the ground.
Most of the others were out on their feet.

Physicality and pressing game is excellent, anything regarding touch/vision/shooting/dribbling isn’t at the level but he certainly has his uses. Not much else to it.

Don’t strikers hit their best around McBurnie’s age? Still another 3-4 years for Joseph?
