I work away and missed the match just about to watch it now that I’m back, after work we jump in a van and went to the little local pub we use as I stepped through the doors 1st thing I see is 3 black and whites looking nervous and saying come on Arsenal as I turned to look at the TV Ballard was just heading the ball to be lashed into the net by Brobbey the look on there faces as I yelled get in was priceless perfect timing mind they did shake me hand on the way out with grimaces on there faces and said we did good
A lad I used to work with in Exeter described Ballard like this. You are in the bar, Saturday night, trying to get served, Ballard is the Rugby prop forward, just barges through, served immediately
Just watched the full 90 There were a few things that I missed seeing it live. I think that is the first time I’ve ever seen the linesman request a new flag. Timber stamped on Le Fee’s toe and got away with it while Arteta jumped up and down protesting that we got the foul. Merino falls over and Xhaka tells him to get up and not to be a soft ****e Zubimendi touched the ball leading to the free kick just before we scored. Ballard could make a decent striker. First Arsenal goal conceded in over 13 and a half hours. Arteta picks up the ball, thinks about holding onto it, then gives it straight to Reinildo. Arsenal had 1 real chance in the first half when Eze blasted over. Reinildo appeals for everything even when he’s massively in the wrong. Trossard took his goal really well. Sunderland have scored 8 goals beyond the 75th minute this season. Raya had no idea where the ball was after saving from Brobbey. NOT a single soul is leaving this stadium early. Again there was no VAR indication on the big screen. What a way to score your first goal - take a bow Mr Brobbey. Xhaka - what a captain we have
I had a few Newcastle mates in the UAE and we kept in touch after I moved to South Africa.. When we got promoted all I heard was easy 6 point, relegated with lowest total etc etc... Now....all three of them have changed their tone and comments dramatically.. I am hearing some excuses for their pending defeat in advance, praise for Sunderlands performances, but precious little chest beating about how they are going to batter us. Times they are a changin'
