Quinner's contention, though, was that anyone in an offside position in a 6-yard box is automatically offside: I countered that by saying that rule is that being in an offside position does not mean you're offside - that is the actual rule. It shouldn't be changed for just one part of the pitch - it doesn't need to be. You're not necessarily active just because you're in the 6-yard box. I rest my case.
By the fact your in the six yard box will attract attention even if only a cursory glance from an opposition player.The offside rule needs to be redefined.
The remarkable point of this is that Oliver (again!) thinks that Robertson is "directly in front of him". Though I wouldn't expect the lino who made the call to know otherwise, one simple view on VAR should have told them the Robbo is nowhere near the goalie's eyeline, and the 'movement' (ducking under the ball) was nowhere near as impactful as Doku attempting to head the ball as it flew past him.

It's semantics really isn't it. The people using the system are part of the system and the system can't function without them. If any part of the system isn't working then the whole doesn't work. If any one out of the audio links, the cameras, the monitors or the humans working the equipment fails then the whole system fails. The only part of the system that keeps malfunctioning is the human.
