On to the next page of the pantomime. Who will it be? Who is out there? Could we take Daniel off the hands of Leeds - I wish but I doubt that he would come. The thought of Russell Martin and most of the early candidates mentioned leave me cold.
In hindsight (ain't that a wonderful thing?), we should never have sacked DF it really was a case of 'be careful what you wish for'. However having said that I don't think it would be a good idea to re-employ him, in all my years following football I can only think of one occasion where it has really worked and that was when Howard Kendall went back to Everton in the 80s. Remember when Mike Walker returned to us? What a disaster that was.
The hint last night or yesterday was we'd appoint somebody during the next week or so. So unless we've had a short-list and negotiations underway...that would leave those unemployed (now sacked) unless Atanassio is going to fund another compo deal... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trainer/verfuegbaretrainer/statistik/0/plus/0/galerie/0?land_id=alle&wettbewerb_id=GB2&seit=alle&punkteschnitt=0 - 3&filtern_nach_punkteschnitt=0;3&0=0&3=3&spielklasse=0&plus=0 - filtered by UK Championship experience; people like Still, Martin, O'Neil, Sheehan, Carrick etc... None of that lot inspire any sort of confidence. I'd be ok with Carrick though cant' see how we'd be appealing to him! I can honestly see them appointing someone out of work till the end of the season for a new 5 years plan starting 26/27. Ralph Hasenhüttl Chris Hughton ?
Out of that list I would tend towards Michael Carrick because he knows the league, he did a good job at Boro and he has extra charisma from having played top league football at a top club (hopefully producing a bounce similar to that Wilshire produced in his two games last season).
There's no doubt in my mind that there'll be a bounce. Even a thoroughly cautious view of the performance data would currently put us out of the relegation zone, level on points with Blackburn. Even Fotheringham could probably manage the team to something approaching reversion to that norm. And I don't agree with Rick about injuries being the overriding factor. IMO it was down purely and simply to poor coaching.
Kjetil Knutsen is out of contract at Bodø/Glimt in the New Year! But regretfully that ship has well and truly sailed
Rakow manager Marek Papszun has moved from an outsider at 16/1 to now being at 4/1. Of course these things are generally based on people laying bets and it is more than likely due to the PinkUn writing an article about him rather than anything ITK. Who is Marek Papszun?
