All this is kind of why I’m okay with them hanging on to Tonda for a couple of weeks, over trying to appease fans by getting somebody average in early.
I get doing the full due diligence on a potential manager and not rushing, but on the flip side with a fair few clubs looking for a manager if there is someone who is also attracting interest elsewhere we may have to move quickly or risk not getting them at all. Interesting that Sam Parkin on the podcast I linked yesterday thinks Carrick is going to the the next manager. He works in the media and is obviously an ex pro so may hear some stuff through those channels. Not seen Carrick mentioned anywhere else apart from fans suggesting him
Carrick has been banded about pretty much since the beginning? And he only really suggested him because the podcast host gave him the top four or so to choose from, and seeing as the others were Tonda, Russ and O'Neil...well... I wouldn't read much into that (whilst I also wouldn't be surprised if we appointed Carrick).
I know Carrick has been high up the bookies list but I’ve not seen any media really link us to him. Fair point about the host just giving him the bookies odds and him thinking Carrick is most likely from those (the others all have obvious reasons not to go for them, rather than Carrick being being the choice) I think it will be Tonda til the end of the season, if they go another route it will be someone from overseas
Tend to agree, and unless someone good comes available from the likely sackees, I'm okay with the latter option (nervous on the first).
The names aren’t particularly inspiring or realistic. Still think anyone who is sacked in the next couple of weeks isn’t going to be in a rush to get back into work, especially with us. Someone like Boro could be tempting given their position
If Farke is ditched by Leeds reckon we might have a go at trying to bring him in? Or too boring for SR?
Reduces our chances of getting a sensible manager by 2/3. What am I saying, SR will never make a sensible appointment.
With all due respect to them, why on earth would a manager choose Swansea over us? Besides, I doubt we'll be competing with Swansea when it comes to managers.
Without arrogance I think we are a better proposition than Swansea and Norwich. Might be in a bit more of a fight with Middlesbrough though given current league positions.
It’s not arrogance , it’s a fair POV . What has their managerial turnover been like compared to ours recently ? I don’t know I haven’t looked , but if ours is far worse , surely that might set alarm bells ringing in any prospective new managers head ?
