Don't know much about him, seems to be a young striker (18) doing canny at a bad ligue 1 side. Scored 3 already. Maybe a project type signing for us
Was more making a point with the keepers that we could just sign 2 more dross keepers for peanuts for the HG quota. Not sure about Hjelde but he defo fits the criteria he was at Leeds from the age of 17. I’ve not known of any PL squad struggling to submit a squad because of lack of HG players.. I’ll sure we’ll be more than fine, most of them are operating at the maximum of 17 non-HG anyway I’d imagine? As we solidify ourselves in the PL we’ll have more money to pick up top u21 talents and English players so I’m not worried at all. Shame about Hume and Mayenda if he just misses out as they’ll be mainstays.
Hjelde joined Leeds the day after his 18th I believe. The rules don’t seem to make that much sense to me. The likes of Amad and Joao Pedro both count as homegrown despite coming to the UK well after their 18th birthdays. It wouldn’t surprise me if Hjelde gets reclassified at some point. However the problem is that he’s not likely to ever be a proper contributor. Hopefully Mayenda gets hg status as that eases things. However even if he does, we’d still be talking about 14 senior foreign spots already taken for next season with players we wish to keep. And that assumes that we get rid of Traore and Masuaku. We’re definitely limited over the next two windows in this respect. Fully expect us to use all 17 slots, but we need to be careful about how we choose to use them. We should defo phase in hg players when fringe players move on. Definitely tough to do while finding value for money and maximising quality though.
Ha aye mate just FIFA, well EAFC now, basically players at bigger clubs get scanned so they real in game and we’ve not had may, they’ve released a bunch of them now in game
Can definitely see that one happening. Would be a decent option for West Ham, they’re not blessed with loads of pace
