I think we could do it and have the expense not included in the financial rules - dont think PSR includes costs associated to infrastructure any more...

I was never worried about this, but glad that this is something we've wrapped up before any murmurs from other clubs came sniffing about. <ok>

This would be superb news if we get all these extensions wrapped up. A far cry from how Arsenal used to manage contracts for sure.

It does seem like losing players to the likes of City and Utd is a thing of the past.
I think the rapid decline of the European leagues, especially in Spain, has also helped.

Saka and Timber are the key ones for right now I think. Get them signed up.

    https://www.arsenal.com/news/premier-league-fixture-against-everton-rearranged

Our Premier League match at Everton in December has been rescheduled, with the fixture at the Toffees' new Hill Dickinson Stadium now taking place on Saturday, December 20 at 8pm.

This match was previously scheduled for Sunday, December 21. However, the EFL scheduled our Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, December 23 due to the Eagles’ participation in the UEFA Conference League.

When that fixture was officially scheduled, and before tickets went on sale for our away game at Everton, we opened dialogue with the Premier League and Everton Football Club to request a change of date to avoid playing two matches in the space of 48 hours. As a result, the match has moved to Saturday, December 20.

Playing two matches within a 48-hour period contravenes FIFA recommendations, which have established a consensus for a minimum of 72 hours' rest between games. This recommendation is in place to protect player health and fitness. Recovery time between matches is especially important during busy periods of the season, such as December.

It is also worth noting that Christmas Eve was mooted as the date for the Carabao Cup quarter-final but was rejected due to the proximity to Christmas Day, which would impact our supporters and workforce.

As our match against Everton was originally selected for live broadcast in the UK, the fixture had to transfer to an available broadcast slot, which is identified as 8pm on Saturday, December 20. Both Everton and the Premier League have approved the match to proceed at this new time. Crystal Palace’s Premier League match away to Leeds United is also being played on Saturday, December 20, with an 8pm kick-off.

The welfare of our players, supporters, and staff is our priority, and we fully understand this change of date may result in challenges for supporters travelling to Liverpool for the game. Therefore, we are organising additional supporters’ coaches for this match. All coach travel will be subsidised for supporters, priced at £10 for the return journey to Everton.
