I'm absolutely convinced Howe is the right man for us. The bloke has worked wonders in the 4 years he's been in charge, people forget the sh!t show he inherited. Would the moaners have taken what he's achieved at the start of his tenure?
Doesn't like Hall despite was first choice starter last season under he got injury and got into the Eland squad under Howe? Who is this striker we spent £80m? Woltemade who cost £69m and has been a huge success. To show how reactionary and in the moment this is, you then cite Arsenal who were poor last season, lost to us 3 times out of 4 and barely deserved then point they did win. Have started well this season, but the only team to do that. Villa had an awful start, Liverpool are on a terrible run, Spurs are messing up and Man U are nowhere near the best.
As GG said, you are just deluded by the "pathetic notion" that Howe has won a trophy. I was expecting GG due to have chilled slightly during his exile from here, but no, he comes straight back in raging.
In that case I must be off my f@cking trolley deluded because he saved us from relegation, got us into the Champion's League twice, given us hope which we never had and won a trophy.
Absolutely right. But there must be a question mark today after getting £600m to spend and currently sittting in 14th, with the majority of the performances since the incredible LC win being insipid and furthermore with us not seeming to get any better. It’s been a while, 7 months and counting, of mainly poor performances, results and transfers. I think it’s ok to question things when they’re going wrong. Is it right to want him sacked right now? Not a chance. But it has to improve, probably will, and i would guess almost the entire fan base wouldn’t be happier than seeing Howe lead a revival. I definitely hope he does it, deep down think he will in spite of board moaning and am actually really interested to see if he can move to the next level with a better supporting cast.
The owners don't get enough credit.. £££ was the biggest reason behind our success and Howes management beneath that. Managers are only as good as the club they work for.. That's why there's no point in sacking Howe.. They're all pretty irrelevant. I'm not trying to sound like a ****, but that's the reality.
Fundamentally it’s hard to disagree for simple reasons of spending. Best managers ever, or best spending ever? Ferguson, Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp. Even Keegan got big bucks. Give managers top players for top dollar and surprise surprise they produce results. There’s outliers, like Leicester under Ranieri, Wigan under Martinez. So the question for us is where does the club go? Are we an outlier or can we be a sustained force? The answer will probably come from Wilson and Hopkinson rather than Howe.
No, I am sure they are idiots. He may be sacked in the future or leave by mutual consent etc. The liklihood is he will at some stage. No one, or hardly no one, goes on forever. But to be calling for EH's head now is stupid. Laying down ultimatums and/or demands is also childish and stupid. EH has earned the right to be given time to address any problems. So let's give him time. Let's see what things are like when he's able to play his first team, something I don't think he's had the chance to do this season yet. Most people work better with encouragement and support rather than threats or ultimatums. But it's okay, he's just a football manager of my team so let's go overboard because we don't agree with him. Not saying you but there are some FM 2025 managers on here who IMO do. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it helps if it’s based on facts and reality.
Hall hasn't been fit before now. He was on the bench a while back but then broke down again. He was first choice previously when he was fit. Doesn't sound like EH dislikes him. Think the fee was £69M and not £80M but that striker is young, playing in the PL for the first time, necessitates a change of tactics but has still managed to score 6 goals. Both our first choice full backs have been out injured for most of the season. Arsenal have, I would guess as haven't checked, spent more money on their squad over the last 5-10 years and started with a squad at a higher/better level.
I agree. Money is usually at the root of football success with an occasional exception. But the money has to be used correctly to be successful as it's not the only factor as the Scouse Mackems proved.
Howe would have been sacked long ago by Ashley, for the simple reason we're doing well. He hated Europe under Pardew, and Cabaye was immediately sold and the key player taken out, so we could be back to the barely achieving **** Ashley loved.
