    Looks like you are right:
Karun on the skypad shows it quite well, especially in comparison to the cars around him. I believe drs closes when you press the brake pedal or you manually close it!

I wonder if, along with praying for rain, they start Max in the pitlane to make some set up changes (and avoid inevitable carnage of T1).

Yeah they have to from here. Change whatever you can, put a new engine in to maximise your power and hope for rain. They’ve got nothing to lose now so they have to.

Carlos, he left Mclaren for Ferrari before being let go for Lewis. I remember the disappointment on Carlos's face when he realised Mclaren was becoming a good car while he was driving at Ferrari. What might have been had he stayed at Mclaren, who only knows?

Ah, thanks, went totally over my head. In my opinion it was still a long road to go for McLaren and the move to Ferrari was a step up and brought him some success. I don’t think you can regret things over that kind of timeframe, far too much baggage to be carrying around otherwise.

RedBull have form for short term driver swaps, but I assume the rules prevent them from dropping him into an RB for tomorrow? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

It just seems it`s meant to be now for Lando to win the World Championship.Everything is comng together well with Oscar crashing out in the sprint and only 4th in quali for the Grand Prix. Even Max who was Lando`s only other rival is now falling away out in Q1 with a car that has no grip. Oscar had all his good fortune in the early part of the year.

I agree,it``s a carbon copy of Max`s race last year when he made the whole grid look like part timers.Coming from 17th to win in the rain and there`s every chance the weather will have a big say in the result again.

Much as I want Lando to win, you can't write Oscar off yet. Lando is fast but also more emotional. One DNF or off track excursion and the world changes.

Yes that`s true, but Lando has gained 43 points over Oscar in the last five Grand Prix weekends Surely that`s a perfect confidence booster and Lando has said himself that he`s lessened his weaknesses and I think that this all only makes him stronger mentally. I just can`t see him losing another race this year and this will lead to running to a perfect finish. This all must have a negative effect on Oscar and just help to destroy and ruin his self belief.

I will admit Oscar is looking somewhat defeated but then so did Lando a couple of races after the break. After today there are still 85 points available. Today's result is not a given. I would like Lando to win but more importantly I don't want Verstappen to win which is looking an unlikely outcome.

Yeah, after a mechanical dnf put him over 30 points behind, if you include the sprint races Piastri has dnf'd through his own mistakes in 3 of the last 6 races.

Ultimately I suspect the story of this year is going to be that it was a qualifying championship. Lando is generally the better qualifier, but through the beginning and middle of the year he seemed to struggle on Saturday handing the initiative to Oscar. Since Zandvoort Lando’s turned the tables again, combined with some mistakes from and also some things going against, Piastri.

I’m not reading too much into the sprint yesterday, ultimately Lando made a small mistake ran wide and pulled a load of water onto the track/kerb. In Piastri’s case he was on basically the same line as he was the lap before, but suddenly the kerb was a lot more lethal, he had a moment and went off. Verstappen had the same moment and caught it, tiny margins.

Having said that, it’s very much in Norris hands now, he’s the man most likely today, McLaren are likely to dominate Qatar and Abu Dhabi, two poles at those and the job is 80% done imho. The pressure is still on both right now, but increasingly on Norris as it becomes his to lose . If he can handle that and maintain this performance level he’ll bring it home.

Does anyone look at Autosport on line ?

The writer of the article actually said of Piastri

which continued his capitulation in the 2025 Formula 1 world title fight.

    Capitulation?

That’s well out of order IMHO .

This is what someone wrote , and I agree 100%
I even clicked the respect button .

Oscar Piastri took full responsibility for his crash during the Brazilian Grand Prix sprint race, which continued his capitulation in the 2025 Formula 1 world title fight.
What utter and insulting rubbish .
    Capitulation ?
That’s an insult pure and simple , and for Autosport to let this be published is just sad

Autosport is not what it used to be sadly. I go there for the pre-season live text and then try to stay away until the next year.

Oscar making alot of mistakes now, basically gifting the title to Norris.
