I take no delight in his sacking. He took us to the playoffs - I’m grateful for that. He moved on for mainly personal reasons and I wished him well. Of course it was good to get the financial compensation - and it’s always good when a rival club is struggling, but I bear no personal malice to Liam. it’s also probably going to mean bad news for us, as Norwich could turn around and start climbing the table again.
Nevertheless he has to be hurting seriously and I have to say I really feel for him after the loss of their newborn and wish him nothing but good luck. League One would be a good fit for him and build back from there if possible.
Ipswich, Leicester, WBA are all getting their respective acts together now I take no pleasure from it either but 2 wins from 15 games is awful at any level, but the 7 straight home league defeats is a record for the second tier of English football
I gave him credit for making us a top 6 side but he made his choice and must suffer the consequencies despite enjoying his settlement.
in this day and age with managerial swip swaps the hand shake payment will not be massive! contracts are more term and result orientated... what do you think his annual salary would have been? per week / PA ? MY GUESS IS AROUND £450K pa +bonuses ... termination would likely be circa £ 50k
I don’t get the hate towards Liam from City fans. The guy got us to the play-offs for the first time in 17 years - something Pearson was nowhere close to doing, yet fans love him, or at at least the older ones do…... Norwich had more cash than us, plus taking his wife ‘home’ after the loss of their young child is to be expected, I hold zero ill will about that. Decent bloke, good manager, he will be back somewhere soon.
seems like not spent well as had a massive loss last season and spent a lot in the summer although did get in £20m +
Supcon 'yet older fans love him'. Nothing to do with age, we all have different opinions. I 'liked' the rest of your comment, to me it made perfect sense........is that because I'm young ? It can't be.........I'm old.
My point was, people on here say Liam’s football w as awful, but Pearson’s was worse overall. He was incredibly fortunate to inherit 3 great talents in Scott Semenyo & Conway 2 of these he sold, yet still we were awful and very few people on here give him any stick and you may not like it, but, it’s mainly the ‘older’ fans on here.
Supcon I wonder how many on here are over 50, wouldn't be surprised if it's 80%. ps I think 50 is young
Supcon. Have a look at OITB which I reckon has a much younger 'audience'. Almost to a man/boy they love Nige and they credit him alone for giving Scott his debut. Not scoring points at all just saying we all have different opinions, nothing at all to do with age.
Of course LM deserves credit for getting us to the playoffs, he was successful because of what Pearson built, a good squad full of honest hard working players. He would never have done what he did without it, no where near. Norwich have best striker in this division and he’s been made to look average because of his style of football. Everything is always the players fault, his ideas are always “perfect”. 60th minute subs, like for like. Boring football boring everything.
