I was going to post yesterday but realised that the forum had descended into some kind of political debate discussing the Pros & Cons of the Commemorative Sunday and some waffle about the Chinese - I'd just like to ask what do the non-existent Mods do to regulate this site? The double standards and hypocrisy that are shown on this forum are staggering! I'm here to read and discuss the trials and tribulations of my beloved Saints not some BS politics and responses that clearly crossed the line in regard site policy. Come on Mods get a grip!
The match would have been much closer without the Wednesday keeper who was particularly bad in the first half. The game should have been won by half time due to his errors.
I dont mind a frank exchange of opinion and recognise that people may not agree with my left wing views which i do not think are unique and shared by other colleagues of mine. I do get fed up with some of the personal stuff as i try to remain polite with my replies, including IOAG who appears to be a delicate little wall flower. I do not recall being aggressive towards anyone other than once pre-pandemic. I think you should be able to express your opinions.
I’m so sorry you were upset by a bit of real-world intrusion into the post match discussion. As I don’t exist I thought I wouldn’t bother to keep a close eye on it and actually offer my own thoughts. As I stated on another thread I thought it was relevant to the match thread as it related to something that happened at the match. In the same way, if someone had a complaint about a pie they had eaten at the match that discussion would also have been relevant. I remember there was a heated discussion on a previous match thread about the way in which the team was announced to the crowd. That was also relevant. The discussion is now over, or at least it would have been if you hadn’t posted your very welcome opinion. Anyway, my own opinion is that sometimes I wish I didn’t exist, as whatever I or Tom do, someone will always get upset about it.
You are the worst most opinionated hypocritical Mod ever and an absolute joke, and you have been for a very long time. I have very little respect for your opinion and think you should have been pensioned off many years ago. No, I wasn't upset like a wet melt like yourself but expressing my concern that this forum had descended into farce and the so called Mods were contributing to it. I thought you'd be above the level of petty sarcasm shown in your reply but no, you really can't help yourself and stay true to form.
Bless you, I will take your comments on board and strive to become a better person. Thank you for your sage advice.
Patronising and Condescending are two words that spring to mind. I shall take some of my own advice "Never argue with an idiot"
Yeah we finally found a keeper in this league worse than Bazunu. He was beyond dreadful. The fact they play for basketcase Sheffield Wednesday who basically have a L1 squad and he's not even first choice for them kind of says it all.
I did actually say can we end this discussion and get back on topic. But I don't regret having a discussion on the merits of playing the last post at football games.
Not sure on their situation, but I wonder if they'd go back for Lumley in January; sounded like he had a couple of good games for them. Appreciate the bar is probably low for them if Lumley looks good, mind
They’re both not good keepers, yet the slack cut to McCarthy who is just as bad is weird. I stick up for Baz just for the fact their poor displays get treated differently. The keeper is the least of our problems currently.
What hogwash. Apologies, but thats nonsense. Have you seen the amount of stick McCarthy has had over the years? I include myself in that.
I can only speak for myself but the reason I'm more vocal about Baz is because I think Alex is a better keeper (far superior when it comes to shot stopping), so when Baz makes the same mistakes it's frustrating cos I think we've got a better keeper on the bench. When Alex makes a mistake I see it as yeah it's annoying but it's the best we've got so not much we can do. Like I say I genuinely believe Baz to be the worst keeper I've seen play for us. He's awful. It's remarkable that we spent over £10m on him to start in the PL.
To apply the same logic to another position, Armstrong can be incredibly frustrating at times but ultimately there's not much point going on about it because he's the best goalscorer we've got. Whereas if Downs started ahead of him and missed loads of chances I'd be thinking why are we persevering with this guy when we've got a more accomplished option on the bench?
Tom, it was clear that the message posted by Ian, caused you (and myself and a couple of others), some distress, and you did well, not to block the discussion. I am an over opinionated chatterbox, I don't know what Ian's excuse is. I apologise if my remarks caused any problems, not my intention, but it did strike a nerve at the time. As for mods, it's a thankless and unpaid task. I am happy with what you do even if others do not. Other sites have been ruined by not having any control of what is being posted, in my opinion, this one has survived because it is managed fairly.
To be fair, this fan base is great for sticking the knife in on our players, just some get it more than others.
