The confidence in this team is absolutely through the floor, they’re scared to make a pass, make a tackle, step forward and let one take a shot on
Tonight's matches aren't finished, but pre-season if you'd gone to the bookies putting money on 3 of the bottom 4 being Soton, Blades & Canaries (after 30% of the season), I'd suspect you'd have got good odds. Soton just scored, think I pre-empted that I'll give up now!
I think 19th is probably a reflection of our league position rather than his quality necessarily. He's conceded the 3rd most goals in the league, but FBref have him 8th in the division for Goals saved above Expected, at +1.5ish. His save percentage is a touch low, but that probably speaks of a team who give up a low number of shots - but those we do give up are better chances. He's definitely got a mistake in him, particularly with the ball at his feet, but he's also made some key saves that have won us points. Considering Gunn and Long were both bottom 5 for Goals saved above expected (around -4 for last season), he's on course to save us around 8 goals across the season compared to keeping Gunn/Long.
Just to reassure everyone before tomorrow's game, Leicester's Polish keeper Jakub Stolarczyk is the top Championship keeper measured by goals saved above expected. Vlad is not the problem, it's the lack of shot-takers with the wit to out-fox the likes of Stolarczyk. [Edit] Stolarczyk is injured and won't feature tomorrow, according to Jedi on the Leicester match thread.
Norwich City have announced a pre-tax loss of £20.7m for the 12-month period to the end of June. The figure is £6.3m up on the previous 12 months while annual turnover fell from £73.1m to £39.3m, reflecting the loss of Premier League parachute payments. The Canaries did, though, make a £23.2m profit on player sales, an increase of £9.8m on the figure for 2023-24. The period concerned included the takeover of the club by Mark Attanasio's Norfolk FB Holdings, but the annual report has been published at a time when Norwich are in the relegation places in the Championship. Executive director Zoe Webber said that everyone at the club was aware of the need to see a "positive direction of travel on the pitch". She added: "In the opening months of the season, we were all incredibly frustrated that some of the good work at the training centre didn't translate to results and points, and, ultimately, that is what matters most. "We know that in this industry there will be highs and lows, but each and every day we always seek to make the best decision for the future of the football club, both in the short and long term. "We're continuing to do everything we can to ensure our supporters have something tangible to get behind."

If we park the stadium announcement for a minute, what is it that you think requires Zoe’s resignation Robbie? Not attacking the point of view, just genuinely curious as I see it a lot and I think she gets a lot of hate aimed her way simply because of her husband
Current criticisms are nothing to do with husband Stuart, Suffolk. She is seen as responsible for the growing disconnect between club and fan base, epitomised by the recent handling of the first stage of stadium refurbishment (so badly judged and handled that Attanasio was forced into pausing it to allow proper consultation etc., which should have taken place long since and certainly prior to publication of the plans). More broadly, the increasingly patronising tone of much of the club's communication and customerisation of the relation between club and fans. See also Connor Southwell's "Verdict" on today's match
I absolutely agree with the criticism directed her way due to the blunder that was the announcement of the stadium plans without consultation, and I appreciate that that alone could be enough for you to say she needs to go. However many have been calling for her head for a long time simply because she is seen to them as Stuart’s wife, as if that somehow effects her ability to do the role. Do you think any thing that is published from her doesn’t go through a PR team? are they tone deaf and responsible for the poor messaging between club and fans?
I fully agree. Most of the major decisions I made were based on information and advice from my Department but if something went horribly wrong it would have been my head on the block.
