In the past we have blamed the board for non investment. They have invested. So,why has it all turned yellow and runny? I honestly do not know. Do you?
Just got home - we left 5 minutes from the end as my 9 year old grandson couldn’t watch it any more ….. I sent this to my son and my mate in Oz at HT: and sent the following 5 or so mins ago: Our first half performance was inept, as Walsh said he wasted the first 45 minutes. The second half saw improvement with the changed formation but neither Ronald nor Cullen did anything of real note: we just had better balance. After equalising, I hoped we could kick on but we left a gaping hole at the back. Still we managed to hit the post from a header but after that players’ heads went down. The Jack Army went quiet and Sheehan looked a manager out of his depth. Sadly, the poor performance and even worse result will draw attention away from a disgraceful refereeing performance: the guy literally seemed as if he were in awe of Ipswich (Ipswich for fecks sake ). If ever there was a cast iron case for giving us neutral referees this was it. The attacking and shrewd Sheehan of last season has transformed into a clueless and useless Manager.
So.....players or management?..... https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...able-swansea-city-ratings-midfielder-32838014 Please ignore post on PNE thread.....fat fingers..
Bit harsh on Vigouroux and Widell, the latter was played out of position and is not, in my opinion, having a fair crack of the whip from Sheehan. Of course, he was signed I seem to recall when Luke was still in charge, albeit loaned back to his former club. Perhaps Sheehan doesn’t want him?
All of those ratings are over the top. Vigs well better than a 5, obviously. Cardiff media Now... manager's rating?
Russell Martin (on 2 occasions), Michael Duff and Luke Williams all had better records at this stage of the season than Sheehan has currently, and yet Sheehan - on paper at least - has the strongest squad.
Perhaps the mistake was appointing Sheehan in the first place? Perhaps we underestimated the contribution and impact of O’Brien? Could it be that his influence and input in the Number 10 role were the critical factors behind our end of season surge rather than the genius of Alan Sheehan?
For what it's worth, my opinion is that we have had mediocre managers for far too long, I do think it's a management problem......
