**** sake. 2-2. Sunderland have deserved that. We've been so weak and have looked so shaky for most of the second half. Annoying. Very annoying for this to happen so late.
We did not deserve even a point. Disgusted. Coasted first half. Woke up and actually put effort in to go 2-1 up and then relaxed again. This is not a title winning side. Don't have the mentality.
The result isn't a disaster, but conceding such a late goal so deep in added time is extremely, extremely annoying. Sunderland really piled the pressure on in the final 10 minutes and we had no outball and no-one who could make the ball stick. We looked unusually shaky at the back and Sunderland looked like scoring every time the ball went into the box. Ballard completely dominated our defence from set plays and crosses, it was embarrassing. Fair play to them tbh. They deserved a result from the game and they got one. I'd probably say they're the best side we've faced so far this season.
Raya had a good game on the whole, but he had a howler for the equaliser. He should have just stayed on his line. And Gabriel let Brobbey get goal side of him too easily,
Overreactions everywhere. As annoyed as I am - it's always hard after a midweek game and were playing Sunderland at the wrong time for two Reasons: 1. Injuries.. No Gyokeres, Odegaard, Martinelli, Madueki, Havertz, Jesus. 2. The are full of confidence right now. I almost expected us to drop points today honestly.
I honestly think if we'd had some senior attackers on the bench, we'd have been able to see the game out. We had no-one to hold the ball up or make the ball stick because Merino ended up staying deep and not pressing when Sunderland were pressing us in the final 10 minutes. We knew how tough this game was going to be, especially with it being our 3rd consecutive away game on the bounce. We just didn't have enough in the end to get a win. Can't wait for players to be back after the break. It's come at a good time for us.
