This is when we thought it likely that we'd sack Still. 'Good' time for clubs to make a change so perhaps more managers are about to become available over the next week for us to look at.

It's obviously already the case that the Wolves and Celtic jobs are available, in addition to ours, and the likelihood is that will grow in the days and weeks ahead.

We might not be fishing in the same waters as Wolves and Celtic, but what they do could have a domino effect. For example, if they appoint Edwards and McKenna, then that's Boro and Ipswich both looking for new managers.

Some managerial movements will impact us in terms of putting some managers on the market and taking some managers off the market. Other managerial movements meanwhile will impact which clubs we're competing with for our appointment.

If there is a loser between Norwich and Leicester today, their manager could well lose their job, especially if it's Manning.

Hard to see a way back for Edwards now, either way.

Strangely enough, the result today might play a part. Win comfortably and it buys us a bit of time potentially on the search. Play dreadfully and lose, and we might be forced into a quicker decision.

Exactly. And he's one of a few that might shift over the next few weeks. I hope, in cricketing parlance, that Tonda can 'keep the scoreboard ticking over' and we aren't therefore rushed into hiring someone deeply average at best.

I would not be surprised to see Still turn up at Boro if Edward’s departs

I would. Be daft to appoint him in their position after seeing him struggle with us.

O'Neill seems most likely to me for them.

But he did have some success in English football at least and there was two year's gap between us and them.

if he can keep picking up wins then keeping Tonda as a night watchman isn't a bad shout as there's bound to be some shifting around in the market as teams start binning off their managers.

I just hope that in doing so he doesn't pull himself into the job but then if he wins 3-4 in a row with the same players that WS failed to do so with then it says as much about the players as it does about the managers and maybe there is something in him to take on the job

We won't win comfortably, if we win it will be a repeat of QPR. Which we obviously need, but it doesn't really change the fact that we need someone competent soon.

Would rather get someone good in, say, 4 weeks time, than someone barely okay now.

Both Corberan and Farke could be available after this weekend, and I’d take either. But would they have better options than us?

I’m hoping Leicester win at Norwich because if they don’t they could sack their manager and be shopping in the same market as us. If Leicester win I can see Norwich sacking Manning and appointing Martin.

Funnily enough, I can also see Leeds replacing Farke with Corberan.

I think we probably have to forget anyone currently in a job who may be getting sacked soon. How often do sacked managers go into another job within a couple of weeks? Just don’t think the timings will align for a Corberan/Farke to come

Of course, we all would. But why do we think a better manager will suddenly become available in 4 weeks?

Any manager willing to join us in 4 weeks, would likely do the same now, so we may as well move early. Unless you are thinking of waiting for someone to be sacked? Which is risky and also suggests they are not doing a great job anyway.
