He'd be better off staying where he is, at least he'd get time to prove himself at Boro. Gibson isn't known for knee jerk reactions and lets face it, he made his name getting Luton promoted to the EPL. But he took them straight back down and was sacked with them 20th in the league and ultimately relegated. Take the promotion out of the equation and there not a huge amount there. Flop at Wolves (and the way they are it's highly likely) and he's possibly washed up. Boro could at least give him a chance to build something and develop a reputation.

I hope he falls flat on his face at Wolves. I've no love for Boro, but it's a **** trick as he's barely been there 10 minutes. I remember years ago talking to a Stoke fan and he went on about how much Stoke fans hated Cotterill for walking out on the after a few weeks to be assistant manager here.

Think Edwards family are based in the Wolverhampton area too.

its a mamouth task at Wolves,

their next games up to end of the year are

    Chelsea
    Palace
    Villa
    Forset
    Man U
    Arsenal
    Brentford
    Liverpool
    Man U

could be pretty much dead and fully in the ground by the end of the year,

Edwards will have to start the ground running, will have to get at least 3/4 wins out of that list and doesnt look possibe,

be flabbagasted if they stay up.

Edwards might be being appointed to get them back up, though that would imply a forward thinking bloke making decisions, and Jeff Shil is not one of those.
They just look so short you cannot see them even making a fist of it. And the next run of fixtures are not like the last four, where they had a struggling Fulham and two promoted sides among them.
It can only be going home that is making him take that job, and of course some extra cash.

When Wolves had their ‘great escape’, and went on a winning run, they played 6 teams that finished below them …

… it was a good effort but these fixtures are way tougher.
