Looking at these clubs who have or are about to sack their managers ( Wolves, Southampton, Norwich, etc) and those clubs who have recently appointed a new manager and its going tits up (Spurs, Forest, Sheff Utd etc )...gives Sunderland fans a warm glow....In the past we would have been grouped in that lot
Waiting the 120 days for RLB is a masterpiece in itself, We didnt rush it, we took our time and selected the right man for the job. he is our Arsene.
It just shows you what I know... I don't admitting I berated the club for taking so long over an appointment as our season was just petering out and we were honking at the end of that season... But I was wrong...totally wrong. The club got this bang on right, we have a gem in RLB
oh I was reet along aside you, every tweet was met with " yeah but what about a coach?" everyone was just so tired of that season, and I think that is where people wanted Dodds out as well. its why, if RLB ( heaven forbids) goes I have full faith that the board will know what they are doing, I think they will already have ideas in mind ( I hope not but you know what I mean)
To be fair, I don't think it's gone tits up at Spurs. Spurs are just being Spurs, inconsistent and will chuck out a random awful performance. It might not be going great. But I don't think it's going badly, though their fans will be demanding and expecting more. All the other I agree with, though.
Someone on Saints web has stated that since the start of the 2024/25 season up to now, Southampton have had more managers than wins ...
7 managers/ coaches in 4 years…. protests against Sports Republic are happening soon. club is a mess. Depending on who they get in, could make or break their season. Few players may put transfers request in
Some saints fans are so sure they are getting Frank Lampard they are getting flags made up "we're bigger and better. With closer links to LDN so he can see his family"
Rob Edwards seems to have made a career out of a promotion and a haircut … ... the latest Russell Martin
I know he lives near Molyneux, and maybe that would be the draw. Because otherwise he must be mental. That bloke at Wolves, Jeff Shi he's called, is a horror story. Manager after manger, director of football changed four times in five years, always eager to sell a player. Edwards would be going into a terrible situation, and when he gets booted out of it, he'll find himself back in League Two. Maybe with a different haircut!
Boo Middlesbrough have rejected an approach from Wolves to speak to manager Rob Edwards. BBC Sport reported on Thursday that the Premier League's bottom side had made initial contact with Championship club Boro regarding their interest in Edwards. But Middlesbrough have turned down that request as Wolves seek a replacement for Vitor Pereira, who was sacked on Sunday following a 10-game winless run to start the Premier League season.
