There must be an irony somewhere in the fact Barton's (****) case involves him using the Fred and Rose West analogy, and Jeremy Vine (****) called Alex Belfield (****) the Jimmy Savile of trolling.
Nixon has now started deleting tweets, he claimed that the pie person is called Lewis and a solicitor has pointed out that he hasn't got a leg to stand on given previous tweets he's made. It's going nowhere.
I dont understand how a defence against the libel is claimed to be what the wronged party has tweeted - unless it actually was supporting the libeller's claim.
Fifa has announced the creation of a peace prize, which it plans to award at the draw for the World Cup on 5 December in Washington. The award, called the Fifa Peace Prize, will “recognize exceptional actions for peace”, soccer’s governing body said Wednesday. “In an increasingly unsettled and divided world, it’s fundamental to recognize the outstanding contribution of those who work hard to end conflicts and bring people together in a spirit of peace,” Fifa president Gianni Infantino said. Fifa said the award, which Infantino will present this year, will be bestowed annually “on behalf of fans from all around the world”. Donald Trump, who has a close relationship with Infantino, was passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize last month despite lobbying from fellow Republicans, various world leaders and himself. Infantino and Trump were both scheduled to speak at an unrelated event in Miami on Wednesday. Fifa recently added another link to Trump by appointing his daughter Ivanka to the board of a $100m education project part-funded by 2026 World Cup ticket sales. Do not adjust your calender; it is November 5th, not April 1st.
Aung San Suu Kyi. The former Burmese/ Myanmar opposition leader and winner of the 1991 Nobel peace prize. The following is taken from Wikipedia: Aung San Suu Kyi drew criticism from several countries, organisations and figures over Myanmar's inaction in response to the Rohingya genocide in Rakhine State and refusal to acknowledge that the Tatmadaw (armed forces) had committed massacres.[13][14][15][16] Under her leadership, Myanmar also drew criticism for prosecutions of journalists.[17] In 2019, Aung San Suu Kyi appeared in the International Court of Justice where she defended the Myanmar military against allegations of genocide against the Rohingya people.[18]
Trump is gonna build an arch similar to The Arc de Triomphe in Washington to himself costing $100,000,000 to be paid from a fund of $1 Billion donated by his sycophant sponsors. What a complete ****.
Probably wrong but remember being kept under house arrest by the military government for years, the government was taking loads of flak over that and how it ran country. Somehow she was let free and got a seat in the government (still military run) now when any flak came at government she got the blame. Seemed like a smart (for the military) move. As said probably wrong based on bits of the news that we're shown and stuck in the mind.
Huddersfield Town’s attendance vs Mansfield Town last night was 973, the lowest attendance in the clubs history.
