Potentially but i hope Destan gets a go from the off. Thought he was good off the bench last night. Very positive and physical
Always hard to call the 3rd game in a week, hopefully the extra day rest we have will be beneficial. It would be nice if we can put together 2 halves similar to the 2nd half at Norwich and Derby (without the calamitous error), if we can, we have a good chance of taking all 3 points. I guess likely to be the same starting 11 as at Derby injuries permitting, though I would also like to see Amir back in a long side Slater, so maybe going to a back 4, with Ajayi & Hughes.
Just watched the second half of the Portsmouth game v Wrexham and they played well, Murphy their left winger was very good and will have to be watched closely. Apparently they changed 7 players tonight and played a new system. Most games in this league are never easy and as we know it’s all on the day. Would be great to go into the international break with a win and keep us up there and more importantly be closer to getting some of the injured back.
Portsmouth were ok tonight and played on the front foot, Wrexham looked dangerous on the break. Portsmouths left wing back went off injured in the first half, and unless my eyes deceived me Murphy (their danger man) seemed to be holding his thigh late on in the game, and had a bit of a grimace on his face. Definitely an advantage for us on Saturday.
Yeah, the guy gets around. Doubt if he's missed many games. I recall seeing him at Pompey for the first time in the first Premier League season. He was in an area of his own, ringing his bell throughout the game like Quasimodo on acid. Almost like a kind of sideshow freak you'd see at Hull Fair in the 1960s. Most bizarre. Then years later at the KCOM when the City fans in the East Stand were singing 'where's the *unt with the bell' and the Pompey fans were pointing at him. Made me laugh.
I think we will put them to the sword, from the bits of the derby game I saw even with a depleted squad we was playing some fast nice stuff and looked like we would go on to win. I’d move Joseph out wide and bang Destan up top, let’s go for it a bit at home against a side who are languishing in the bottom half of the table.
