Same. Jack put in a real shift today. No criticism of any of the defenders from me. The two CMs though. Not good enough.

Agreed. Even against no shots on target, he managed to give away a goal. He doesn’t communicate or organise his defence.

Not too much guessing required there. Several classes above the rest

Yeah we look rather weak in midfield and Downes is still too negative for me.

Thought Downs had his best performance by far. Absolutely criminal that Azaz ****ed up that pass to him under no pressure.

Part of what makes Scienza so good isn't just what he can do with the ball, but that he actually tries to do it.

So many of our players are bereft of confidence and are too cowardly to try anything remotely risky such as taking a man on or cutting in and shooting from range. Scienza plays with no fear.

Imagine what would happen to him under Martin...

Yeah Alex just fills me with much more confidence and as you say organises better.

Baz got away with one tonight too when he spilled a pretty tame shot.

Kept away from match info, still in recovery from last Saturday! Obviously pleased as punch and my ticket for next Saturday seems now less of a mistake. Staying up, how did we get to this level of joy??!!

I used to lean towards Baz slightly, but the more I see of them both the more I am starting to conclude that both are ****.

Yeah they both aren’t good enough but I lean more towards Bazunu for his distribution and the slim hope he could improve given his age.

Doesn’t feel like we face that many shots (on target at least) despite the poor run we’ve been on. The last 20 mins today was comfortably the most pressure we’ve been under all season.

Yeah they're definitely both a bit **** and there's not a huge amount between them and it depends what you prefer in a keeper.

By the way it really pissed me off when the ref gave the corner at the end, he still had one finger up when Bazunu released it.

I know Baz messed up for the goal, but the player did have his studs high in the challenge, some Refs would have called it a foul, if it was Scouse or Citeh against us!

Oh. Wasn't aware of that. Very harsh then in that case.

Completely forgot we were playing as was stuck at work. Great to get some points on the board but doesn’t sound like a great game.

    How did downs do?

Really? It is funny how you see things differently at the ground to TV. I'll take your view over mine as a result, but I thought Jack was awful. The slowest thing I've seen since an Aribo sprint.

I also don't think it's fair to complain about DD tonight (not that you were) - he had no opportunity to do anything (particularly as Azaz couldn't manage a five yard pass to him) and he competed/won the ball on the few occasions that he could.
