I get the feeling when he had the sabbatical, unattached to a club, got time around Atl Madrid etc, he got some good ideas. When he’s then restricted to his own mind, his own ideas, without the free access Simeone allowed him, it’s started to dry up. He was very one dimensional at Bournemouth in the end and he’s looking incredibly one dimensional now. Not only that but he’s not managing the squad and has never been able to manage a game well. Pope, Joelinton, Gordon, Burn should never have started this game after the thunderous criticism of West Ham. Yet here we are. And it’s been an almost identical performance as well, where is the innovation, what are we even trying to do? 1-0 is masking huge failings from the manager, and we’re against Bilbaos second string here.
But what’s worse is we’ve seen this countless times recently, it doesn’t change? I know I’ll get ****ing harangued for it, but Howes race looks almost run for me.
It's all about results and we're winning, but it's pretty **** to watch. The format of the competition makes it feel like an international friendly, and the sport in general has become even less entertaining than ever before. Unfortunately most people don't care about entertainment anymore and that's their opinion at the end of the day.
I would say at least GG would be positive when we're winning, but that's the other extreme - GG would be saying we're winning the Champions League and giving Joelinton the Balon D'or right now.
