Pompey will look to bring a three-match losing run to a close when they welcome Wrexham to Fratton Park this evening (8pm kick-off).

The visitors are heading south on a high after they ended table-topping Coventry's unbeaten start to the Championship season on Friday night.

A 'perfect' hat-trick from leading marksman Kieffer Moore saw the Welsh outfit recover from an interval deficit to triumph 3-2 at the Racecourse Ground.

It is a result that sees Phil Parkinson's men sitting 15th in the standings, having collected four more points than their next opponents after 13 matches.

The Red Dragons have adapted well to life in the second tier – their first season at this level of the game for 43 years.

It comes after they finished as runners-up to Birmingham in League One last term to complete a remarkable third successive promotion.

That has been made possible by the takeover from Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, which was followed by a string of lucrative sponsorship deals and a Disney+ documentary.

Pompey have won the past four meetings between the sides, who have not met since a two-legged League Cup tie in 1986.

There will be a host of Remembrance commemorations taking place before this evening's match. Click here for full details.

    TEAM NEWS
Pompey are missing Jacob Farrell (groin), Callum Lang (hamstring), Nicolas Schmid (hand), Adrian Segečić (ankle), Conor Shaughnessy (hamstring), Franco Umeh (hamstring) and Thomas Waddingham (thigh).

Harvey Blair is not yet ready for action after returning to training following a hamstring issue, but Connor Ogilvie has recovered from the illness that kept him sidelined at Birmingham.

Former Blues midfielder Andy Cannon (knee) is sidelined for the visitors, who are also without Harry Ashfield (ankle), Lewis Brunt (thigh), Aaron James (knee), Elliot Lee (knee), Jay Rodriguez (leg) and Danny Ward (elbow).

Pompey have made seven changes for tonight's game. Josh Murphy starts the match, and Luke Le Roux replaces Marlon Pack.
Presumably, Conor Chaplin will play just behind Colby Bishop in attack.

Half time. 0-0. Not a bad first half, good to see Josh Murphy back in the side. He and Conor Chaplin have been our best players in attack, and Josh Knight and Ibane Bowat have looked good in defence. A couple of good saves by Josef Bursik. Nasty looking injury to Connor Ogilvie, who had to go off, and replaced by Jordan Williams.

End to end stuff, quite an enjoyable match so far.
