What's the bets that with Still being sacked and the Romeu news hardly anybody will want to join in negative chanting towards players/SR tonight? In an ideal world we'll take the lead and still sing not fit to wear the shirt.
Hoping Sesay is involved in the squad. From the very little I have seen of him, I think he could have a cracking future. Would rather see him pushing for a midfield place, rather than Downes
Mate, I'd go as far as to revise my previous pyramid of blame. Obviously SR are still very much at the top, **** those guys, but it's time we as fans, realise thats there's a rotten core in the squad who are actually more accountable than our previous 3 managers put together. The ****ing cock on them to down tools to get their own way. I'd rather Downs for all his faults than Stephens, THB and Flynn. He may be ****, but at least he's not cutting about whinging and whining. Absolutely sing about SR, but also remind the players that they're to blame
Problem is, the three players you mention haven’t been playing much the last half dozen games. So either there are a few more (which I doubt), or just that we had a manager ill-suited to the demands of the club and fans.
Yeah, it's no surprise that no manager has been able to get a tune out of them since their bezzie golf buddy left.
I think there's a bit more to it than that. If the group is rotten, particularly the "leadership group" (ha!), that feeds onto the pitch, whether certain people are playing or not.
I know I'm going to be accused of being a Stephens lover/fanboy/whatever as per; but I just cannot see him downing tools, like I can the likes of Downes. I can see him being a frustrated figure, both at being dropped and the state of the team, but I just don't think he's one to give up & down tools. If he's been a part of this "RM clique", then I suspect its in his role as captain in voicing concerns & acting as that link from the dressing room to the higher ups (rightly or wrongly, maybe?), but I just can't see a world in which he personally gives up trying to be honest. Shoot me for having an opinion against the tide
I don't think he's downed tools as such, but I don't believe he's a positive influence and an ally to a manager.
Absolutely. I still think Still’s negative tactics are more to blame. At least up until Preston. That was just players not giving a f*ck.
Or.... The 3 haven't been playing because they are the problem? I'll suppose we'll never know because none of us are in the dressing room, but I've got more than a sneaking suspicion that these players are getting away with murder.
The fact Armstrong has come out and said publically that the players aren't giving 100% rings alarm bells.
