Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:

"It's always frustrating when you lose the game, but I think we played very well today. Especially in the second half when we controlled everything and we scored a nice goal.

"But in the end we unfortunately made two mistakes today and we were punished with two goals. Especially the second one, it's an easy situation. But these things happen in football.

On what he will say to goalkeeper Ivor Pandur after the error that cost Hull: "Head up and we continue. We will go on, because what can you do? You can't change anything. You can just take the lesson from this situation and keep going forward."

Looking at the replay 3 or 4 seconds before the faux pas between Pandur and Ajayi, the central City defender (possibly Hughes. but I couldn't clearly read his number), who was a couple of feet in front of their eventual scorer and was attempting to head the high punted ball as it dropped out of the sky, either badly timed his attempted header, or to me seemed to be pushed in the back by said scorer which made the City defender miss the ball completely. That incident directly led to the fiasco that followed. Was it a foul (impeded by opposition player) or poor judgement in timing?
    C'est la vie.

T'was a very difficult one to take, but sometime mistakes happen, and a bit of perspective needs to be had IMO. We have had some good rub of the green of late, tonight through miscommunication we gave away a soft goal.

However, first half, even though not great, the half was pretty even apart from them getting their goal.

2nd half we were totally out playing them, and looked to be the side that was going to take the 3 points, and that with a large percentage of our first teamers missing.

A stupid mistake cost us the game, but we shouldn't be down-hearted. In the end it may well have ended a draw, so we dropped a point, and with 3 against Norwich, and if we can win Saturday, it wouldn't be a bad week.

Hopefully this loss will give the boys extra motivation on Saturday, and get back to winning ways.

Two people who are loving Joseph’s effort so much they can’t see a sub’s touch or technical ability - maybe some just want a replica of Joseph - a workhorse . I don’t slag Joseph off like some are Destan , I just see a lot of effort but poor touch - I hope he improves - I’m pretty sure some want Destan to fail because like so many players before they need one to slaughter
This is not a personal go at you but fans should watch players movement , balance , first touch etc
Nobody slagged Joseph off for the pass he should have made to Darko at Norwich who was in acres of space , he just shot from a bad angle at a height that was perfect for the keeper - that’s the type of thing that’s missed - but Pandur can be hammered too easily .

He's brilliant isn't he, his attitude is fantastic.

Though it was a disappointing way to lose a game, we were still good last night and considering our injury situation, we should still be very happy with the performance of the lads.

Late in the first half last night Joseph had the ball on the right touchline surrounded by three Derby players. He used his strength and a couple of skilful drag backs to work some space and send Gelhardt away down the wing.

Your insistence that Joseph is nothing but a workhorse just doesn’t stand up to basic scrutiny. That sort of generalised bollocks might work down in the golf club clubhouse, but it doesn’t wash with people that watch Kyle actually play football twice a week.

It happens in wet conditions. Watch any Sunday League game. Disappointing, obviously. But we move on to the next challenge. What's more of a worry is that it appears to be highly unlikely that we'll ever see our best XI on the pitch at the same time this season.

I'm a big Drameh fan and was still surprised at how good he was. Just looked electric every time he got the ball, and his work rate was incredible.

I suspect that would be true of most teams. It's why the very notion of Best XI is antiquated. I was listening to a pod the other day saying we didn't need Carvalho because 'where would he start' when McBurnie, Belloumi, Millar and Gelhardt are all playing. The answer is that the chances of all four of those playing for any sustained period is incredibly unlikely, and having a fifth top quality option to rotate through the front four is key to continuing our momentum. Hell the way he's going I'd almost say it's worth looking at bringing Burstow back as he can play wide or through the middle.

That’s just the same as those who’ve already decided Destan is useless if that’s measure . I watch them both but you can’t compare a player who’s played a total of about 90minutes in 9 games to one who is ‘match’ fit and played every week , and yes I watch them all twice a week too . I watched Joseph’s goals at Blackpool he seemed better at shooting from the edge of the box , he’s decent at pressing he does do some good touches I agree but he also lets himself down in composure . My point is you are not comparing two equal players playing as much time , and the golf club has f*** all to do with my opinion , just like the pub doesn’t either . Again at least i recognise Joseph’s contribution where some don’t ’ want ‘ to see Destans ability .

I, was advocating for Burstow to return about three weeks ago. Though some on here, questioned my sanity.. Which is okay. I get it. But we need bodies and the odd curved ball to throw now and again.

    Who has said he's useless?

I think some of us said he would offer little to nothing in a physical game as Derby was looking to be, and that proved correct.

Is there perhaps a reason Jak gives Joseph so many minutes?

I can see why some would want to bring Burstow back (if possible) in January, but thinking about the reason we let him go on loan, wasn't it because he wanted game time rather than be a bit-part player? Could we guarantee him more minutes - or as many minutes as he's getting at Bolton? Obviously his confidence would be sky high as he's been scoring regularly. Just wondering how he would feel about having his loan cut short and if he was only getting Destan - type minutes if we would see the best of him?

I’m not arguing Joseph’s effort work and contribution he is the one forward we’ve had in the last 3 years who does press , he’s an athlete and that’s useful and somewhat effective . But as equally as people think I’m being unfair then I think they are dismissing Destan on little playing time evidence . Jak picks Joseph because of that pressing and energy I would guess as it creates space and puts oppo players under real pressure . Alzate was technically better than most players , it showed , but he didn’t run around enough for some , including me as i thought it would lift his game even higher . I sit with a number of ex footballers who feel the same .
There's nothing more that I would like than for Joseph to succeed for us and for him .

Fine, but who would foresee on the number of injuries we're getting a regular basis? When we're down to the bare bones, any swinging Dick will get a game. Bring him back, pronto.

Massively frustrating that. We looked like the only team that was going to win until the second goal.

Everyone knows their biggest threat is set pieces, Ajayi has got to do better IMO.

Another thing that frustrates me is our set pieces, they were so poor. We've got decent aerial threat in the team now, we've got Giles, why are we playing it short?

Shows how wide open the league is if they've won 4 in a row, although they were gifted two goals on Saturday, and another last night. So you'd think their luck would run out at some point.

Like others have said though, we have been on the right side of some games we probably didn't deserve to win recently. Big game on Saturday now, win and last night will be forgotten.
