All of this would've been incredible enough but we've done it without racking up huge debts ...

... and I'd bet there'll be a stadium expansion announced at the end of the season.

I was at that Charlton game, we should have won but couldn't put the ball in the net, then they scored on a break away pretty late on. We still had chances after that but just couldn't score. That was the start of another of Lee Johnson's streaky runs where we couldn't buy a win for weeks.

I remember switching the match off against Rotherham when McGeady got sent off, we were 3-1 down by then and they seemed to pick us off at will. I don't remember anything about the Sheffield Wednesday game other than the score and I missed the Mansfield game because I was down in Birmingham that day after an interview to be a volunteer at the Commonwealth Games the next year. I do remember misreading the score and thought we'd took the lead when it flashed through on my phone. I was really pissed off when I checked properly and saw the real score!

    Light-years difference to now.

Another game that to me gave me confidence of staying up, not the score but the performance against a established premier league club, fell behind after a lack lustre start , but came back to dominate the game comfortably, and that stat which shows us at the top of points gained from losing position shouldn’t be underestimated as it shows our character and bottle
Xhaka,Enzo,Ballard,Sadiki and Geertruida were the standouts for me but everyone put a shift in and deserved more than a point in my opinion…..,or and how did we not get that penalty appeal, didn’t even go to VAR review FFS

Sunderland fans - I sat down with the brilliant Granit Xhaka for the Premier League this week - and asked him what the famous #SAFC anthem ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’ means to him after he sang along to it earlier this season, “I hadn’t heard it before. The first time I heard it was West Ham and it was so emotional. I’d never had something like this - with this atmosphere with the people singing this song. “It’s not something you learn - the singing just comes because of the feeling. When you feel like you’re home, you do it automatically. The first day I came here I felt like I’m at home."

Is Xhaka taking the piss <laugh>

Heard a few “experts” today giving their take on the match last night, and plenty were saying “Everton will be alright and won’t be in the relegation battle “ I’ve watched them a few times on the telly and in the flesh last night, but I don’t know if I’m seeing a different game, but are they that much better than us?

We've had 10 games to try to get used to the manager, the systems, the new players, etc.

Once we got to grips with things Everton barely had a kick.

We'll get better as the season goes by and finish above them.

We definitely getting stronger marra, just don’t see the big gap between us and some established teams that is sometimes portrayed, and I don’t get easily hyped, just think we are a solid team now who are hard to beat

The obvious challenge is 4 of our next 4 fixtures then change in December with Afcon and whether we maintain confidence if we aren’t at full strength. Full strength and even close to it we’re ballers.

His best game. Put a real shift in and looked a threat. He has a goal in him as well that lad.

Suffering slightly from trying too hard but he'll settle, he's unafraid and has real class.

Yeah was saying after the game to my dad that's his best game so far by a mile.

Still annoys me that he goes to ground about 75% of the time after losing the ball but he looked to be doing that a bit less last night too.

One point in the first half where he used skill as good as N’Diaye did for their goal (maybe better), but then took another touch and lost it when the shot was on!!!
Definitely his best for us so far l and very promising
