I mean that I think we’ve all been paying an additional percentage and premium on our bills to pay for the suicidal rush to try to get to net zero

it is a sort of maze of interconnecting associations.
We are paying through tax to fund the £8 -10 bn start up of GBE [ WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE £20BN BLACK HOLE there is £8bn of it! ]
Far more than the £1.2bn wind farm fiasco, there is the cost [ and goes back to previous .gov's 25+years ] of paying not to generate ] now exasperatingly expanded in costs not to generate from wind turbines that being added to annually!!!!
Paying not to generate is the direct cost of our inflated fuel bills.
FIXING THE price is a farce to say bills shouldn t be over circa £1750 PA is a theoretical joke. if I didnt use any gas my electric to replace the "heat / warmth" aspect would mean I could only use electric for 8 months and 3 days [ the 4 months without would need to within MAY TO SEPT:
Abolish the algorythm of gas to electric costing and bills could easily drop 20%?????

PMQ'S another fantasically dimwitted PM dimwitted in most of it anyway! Usually referrals to 14 years and its never us always someone elses fault ............. a high light on at least a couple straw grabs hoping no one would notice......

STATED 5 consequetive interest rate drops ...... first 2, (likely 3) were carry overs from tory.gov and 1 was because the BOE SAW A CATASTROPHE LOOMING with inflation and dropped the rate to avert it ......... so 1 of the 5 is basically how the economy has fared in the small odd bit of positivity.

£ 8bn [ like a number of of previous grabs of glory that were down to the previous .gov ] RANTED on about we have done this secured this and the other, making great pains and voicerferious about the TURKEY DEAL ..................oooops .............was initiated and negotiated from January the first 2024... [ selling new windows to a customer can take a visit ...maybe 2 and never longer than a few weeks however selling a warship/plane/ etc can take years ] a colleague worked for aero space and if he made 1 deal every 2 years or so he deemed "brilliant" . PS it is not the .gov that makes the deal it is basically a country to the maker/supplier!

the icing on the cake was the Q . by KB " on such and such a date " i [ KB ] asked the question word for word as ive just done and the the reply was 1 word "yes" [ 2 TIER HAD just CAME OUT WITH ABOUT 30 PLUS SECONDS OF EXCITED DRIVELLING SPIEL] ............. SO can the PM tell us what changed in that 4 month's ..????

HE NEEDS TO TAKE A HOLIDAY............... take the wife and kids to NZ for an extended 3 year break on a hill farm sheep ranch.......... if they would have him!

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has admitted breaking housing rules by unlawfully renting out her family home without a licence.
Reeves has told Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, as well as the independent ethics adviser and Parliament's standards commissioner of the error, which was first reported in the Daily Mail.
It is understood the chancellor used a letting agency but was not told the house was in an area that needed a "selective licence" to rent the property.

Reeves rented out her Southwark home after moving into a flat in Downing Street after last year's election win.
A spokesperson for Reeves said it was an "inadvertent mistake" and she has now applied for the licence.
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has called for a "full investigation".
In a social media post, Badenoch said if the chancellor broke the law, the prime minister must "show he has the backbone to act".
The family home in London was put up for rent after Labour won the election in July 2024 for £3,200 a month.

will he sweep it under the carpet? or will she have to go.............
for 4 years she was part of a team of Liebour oppostion mp's 2 TIER and them who spent hours days weeks investigating "dirt" on TORY MP's ... what goes round comes round .....wait for the excuses and the it wasnt serious it was human error ...etc etc etc mind you approaching £50k in your pocket aint a bad error!!!!!

    She won't go unfortunately

Lammy is the one that should go as head of the Justice Dept. after the Ethiopian offender shambles.

He's another 2 faced person, who has vehemently objected to all deportations many times previously.

Perhaps he, Reeves and Starmer are the ones we should be deporting for bringing the country to its knees.

gosh angelic you are up early only just gone to bed when typed your comment ...lol
since............... a number of emails were released which to the obvious state they were fully informed a certificate would be needed. Although the the "agent so called resigned " the emails are positively pointing to a rental certificate @£900 being required. To ensure it was all in order to conform to the certificate gas and electric certificates were needed and work was done and on application orin furtherance to that certificate being acquired PAT testing needed to be done.

the onus of the the released emails is that they needed one .. the agent was merely stating they would help where necessary.

IMO when they signed over the "deal to rent" then they should have known that all the paperwork was correct and ALL the necessary certificates were present and in order. If someone said to me to do this you need to have and the cost will be and the day of signing something was missing I would ask ...what about! the key here is .. told they want a certificate costing £900 did that £900 appear on their invoice along with all the other items "helped with" !

Could be Rattlesnake is gone after the budget, it being late in the day to sack her now????????

    I’m always awake early <cheers>
It’s come to light that Rachel’s husband, who appears to have been the grown up who was supposed to be in charge in this latest fiasco, is a Senior Civil Servant !
With these two pitiful examples, no wonder the country is in a state
    ‘Nuff said

WHAT A FARCE GBE ... zero rate ... is costing £bn's with no actual gain!

Claire Coutinho, the shadow energy secretary, said: “Ed Miliband has open-ended powers to make gas boilers increasingly unaffordable and force people into buying heat pumps in the name of net zero.

Targets and fines will get more punitive in the years ahead, piling more pressure on families when they can least afford it.

“We have to stop taxing, banning, and bribing people into changing the way they live their lives just to meet net zero targets.

Ed Miliband should focus on making electricity cheap and backing consumer choice.”
Fining manufacturers and pushing the country towards heat pumps was also subsidising jobs abroad.
“These fines are discouraging investment in the UK. The UK is relatively unique in having such a widespread gas network, so we currently make 80pc of the UK’s boilers here. That compares with only about 33pc for heat pumps, with the rest being imported.”

Miliband's heat pump rollout costs taxpayers nearly £700m a year
DISGUSTING ...... LOST JOBS AND WASTED TAX INCOME

And they continue to try to force electric cars on us despite the fact that modern internal combustion engines are both clean and efficient
And good to see that the Just Stop Oil morons who defaced Stonehenge walk away with no punishment

rather weird speech from Rattlesnake Rach today.... attracted quite a few comments from the fiscal & ex fiscal elite....
    Basically................

According to the International Monetary Fund, external by 2022 the UK’s debt amounted to 99.6% of GDP. At the time, this was lower than France (111%), Italy (138%) and Japan (248%).

In fact, with the exception of Germany (64%), the UK’s debt as a percentage of GDP was lower than all other G7 countries at the end of the pandemic.

    Takeaways........
Each of us must do our bit'. We all have contribute if we want to overhaul the country's economic health, the chancellor argued - fuelling speculation that Labour will break its manifesto pledge not to raise income tax

Reeves consistently refused to rule this out, [ tax rises ] or detail which taxes might rise and by how much. As our chief political correspondent Henry Zeffman points out: "If there was any glimmer of doubt about tax rises before this speech, there isn't now"

Reeves’ talk of productivity and national debt might not cut through to people worried about the cost of the supermarket shop and their winter energy bill.

The prospect of tax rises and the promise of cutting the cost of living certainly will. But how can she do both?
There were no specifics in this speech. But the chancellor gave plenty of hints – how “each of us must do their bit”, and how she wants to bring down the rate of inflation to pave the way for interest rate cuts.

my thought on the phrase " “each of us must do their bit”, " used a few times remember 2010! start of austerity!!!!!!!! it was mentioned Each of us must do our bit! but without the constant "the last government blah blah blah Liebour constantly distracting from their inadequences of 14 years"
Rattlesnake Rach and her dimwits use 14 years and .. as a distraction

This is the same idiot who said last year that they wouldn't raise workers tax or NI and that the tough budget in 2024 was a once off and they wouldn't come back for more.

Liars, and incompetent liars at that

Now we’ve apparently had another prisoner mistakenly released from prison last week, for amongst other things, sex offences

This time Lammy should be forced to resign in shame

Complete and incompetence across the board

And now the BBC Panorama are accused of doctoring Trump's speech at the Capitol Hill riots.
We know the BBC are are full of left wing sympathisers but they really have questions to answer this time.
    Heads need to roll.

sad bit is us that are not paying our licence fee anymore [ new rules you can opt out! ] are going to have to pay the amount of revenue lost to balance the books.
Apparently so far quite a few thousand have nor paid if you say circa 300,000 thats a loss of approaching £50,000,000 and expected to rise to £180 PA
