it's the right side that is the issue really, both Talbi and Adingra are far better on the left (Talbi it's night and day) but Le Fee is doing well there. Adingra isn't fancied due to his defensive work rate would be my guess at his lack of minutes. Traore can do a job but i think signing a RW with a bit of x-factor would be big for us. Wouldn't mind revisiting Fatawu
Yes, I’ve think it was the wrong kind of wind You may be 100% correct, I can't deny that. However I always ask myself, in these situations, what would've happened if he'd done precisely what you/us/I had suggested. Would we have lost ... ... it's just as possible. If we'd set up differently would the game have been different, would Everton have changed their set up, etc. Games are only 90 minutes long and can flash by. What I like about Le Bris is that he sits back, suspends time and changes things in real time. That's why I rarely question him. If we'd flown out of the blocks we may have found that Everton rallied in the way we did ... ... we'll never know and that's the beauty of football.
Forgot to add that seeing the experienced players calming down young Sadiki after his yellow card....the group togetherness is something to behold.
I agree about some of ours going down easily, Sadiki in my opinion was fouled in the build up to their goal, but made a meal of it which is why it wasn't given as a foul. That I think contributes to our defence being stretched and not in shape as their player runs at us, no one was in the right position to put a challenge in earlier and by the time we have people back who could he's in the penalty area with too much risk. Reinildo was worse to me as I was right in front of it. He challenged for the ball and is pushed/shoved by their defender, but dropped to the floor holding his face. There was contact from their defenders shoulder, but not enough for him to go down like that. I'm disappointed in it, it's not like us, but can half understand it (though not condone it) because they got the majority of 50-50s and a few soft free kicks for similar things, so some of ours might have tried it on thinking he'd be equally gullible on it.
Disappointed with that result. Yes they were all over us most of the first half but we let them. The odd times we did get in their half we literally looked like rabbits in the headlights. I'd love to know what Regis said at half time. We came out and showed how we can play. Maybe that's a tactic to defend for long spells then attack, but we need to be more prolific in the final third. I'm not complaining, I think Everton are decent. Ok theirs was a wonder goal, could we of defended it better ? But they had too many clear cut chances that thankfully they couldn't put away. All in all though. We are doing great. We just can't afford to give arsenal easy chances. Still a great season and what a team
Them first 30 minutes were our young players having zoomies . Not sure if it was the idea of potentially going second with a win, just the atmosphere, but we weren't composed on the ball. From the 28th to 83rd minute they didn't have a shot on our goal.
Sunderland 1-0 Arsenal "but you played them with injuries, easy start, getting everyone in their bad spells"
Didn't see that so fair play if it deflected onto his hand. Might be a case of the ref accidentally getting the decision right - be amazing if he spotted a slight deflection from his viewpoint.
Looks like the club looking for clarity on this rule.. it looked like a penalty then and still looks like a penalty now… be good for the PGMOL clear up what the rule is
Squad feels a bit lopsided in that respect - Mundle, Talbi, Andingra and Le Fee are all options on the left/ Traore is the only real option on the right. Makes you wonder what future Adingra has if he's getting nowhere near the team at the moment.... Too soon to write him off of course, but seems as though right wing is his only route into the team
