Simon Hallett is not just the owner of PAFC but an avid green and a life time supporter of the club.

He became a director and part-owner in 2016 and then in 2018 a majority shareholder and then the clubs chairman in October of that year.

Under his leadership investment has been made in renewing the Mayflower stand and the development of new training facilities.....and overall an improvement in the financial stability of the club.

That has meant his personal financial wealth has been used in getting Argyle to this position.....wealthy he might be....but to go further and to make PAFC a sound Championship League club more money needs to be invested in the club.....and Hallett has spent awhile trying to obtain that.

The problem is that he will not accept any changes to the way that he has developed the club to its present position his vision has not changed for the future....and he will not allow those principles to be change by anyone buying financially into the club who obviously have terms in how the future would span out with their investment.

So as Hallett reaches a retirement age we have reached a milestone in the development of the club.....this has been highlighted dramatically this season because of relegation from the Championship and during the summer a mass movement of players and administrative staff away from the club......and with it playing skills and desperately needed management leadership.

This has been further exacerbated by the poor start to the season and the inexperience of the Chief Coach Tom Cleverley and unfortunately more than our fair share of injuries.

There are those including the senior management that have recently responded with support for Cleverley (known as the kiss of death).....and there are those that see a continuation of the decline that came under Foster and Rooney and feel that changes need doing before it is too late and Div Two looms large before us.....from now until Christmas will be an important time for Argyle....what can Hallett do to help with his limited wealth......will he change his thinking to help bring in needed finance and loosen his grip on how the club moves forward ?

He can continue to try to find a new investor who shares the stated club mission and values.

These things take time, I can assure you from personal experience. They also often fall over at the last minute.

I assume because of his USA links he was hoping for someone State side to get involved......but it didn't work-out in the end.....has he got anything in the pipeline at the moment ?.....because time is getting short.....having sunk so much into the training facility when things looked good.....but now it looks questionable in hindsight.....but he wasn't to know that 90% of Argyle would up and leave....both players and managerial staff.

We don't know what's in the pipeline Plym and we never will. That's because one of the very first thing that's done when such discussions begin is that both parties sign a non-disclosure agreement.
